Ever heard the legend Rory Sutherland talk about changing perceptions rather than changing the world itself? It’s a game-changer for how we see things, including beer! Instead of spouting stats like alcohol content or hops used, what if we talked about the experiences your beer crafts? Imagine promoting a beer not just as a '3.4% session ale' but as 'the perfect partner for life's big wins'. Or instead of a '4.2% ruby ale', picture it as 'your cozy evening brew, ideal for nights by the fire'. It’s about painting a picture where your beer isn’t just a drink, but a part of life’s moments. This subtle but important shift from dry specs to emotional connections can transform how consumers relate to your beers. It's about enhancing the experiences they’re already loving. Seen any breweries nailing this approach? Drop their names below—I’m all ears...and eyes #BreweryMarketing #BrandPerception #CraftBeerCommunity

𝕾𝖔𝖒𝖊 𝖔𝖋 𝖙𝖍𝖊𝖘𝖊 𝖇𝖊𝖊𝖗𝖘 𝖆𝖗𝖊 𝖌𝖊𝖙𝖙𝖎𝖓𝖌 𝖆 𝖑𝖎𝖙𝖙𝖑𝖊 𝖙𝖔𝖔 𝖘𝖓𝖔𝖇𝖇𝖞 𝖋𝖔𝖗 𝖒𝖞 𝖑𝖎𝖐𝖎𝖓𝖌! Have you ever glanced at the back of a beer can and felt like you stumbled into a wine snobbery convention? It’s a trend creeping into beer labels that could be pushing your everyday drinker away. Not everyone knows their hops from their malts, but they do know what tastes good! Here's a thought: Instead of bombarding beer lovers with jargon about hops and malts, why not educate them on how these elements contribute to the flavours they love or what they taste similar too? Imagine labels that not only list ingredients but explain how each one shapes the beer’s taste. Or better yet, host workshops, create videos, and write blogs that demystify beer lingo and connect it directly to the flavours drinkers enjoy. This would transform your customers into champions of your brewery, no longer will they feel stupid for not knowing the difference between Amarillo and Apollo. Instead they’ll understand it and confidently share their knowledge with others, spreading their love for your brand far and wide. You’re not alienating anyone with fancy terms. Instead, you’re building a community of knowledgeable, loyal fans who feel included and valued. Anyone seen this done well, or have thoughts on how to better implement it? I love tracking our taproom beers like they're racehorses. Is a young innovation product going to sneak in to pass the old guys on a curve? I think I am doing the sports analogy thing correctly. Either way, how about a June recap? DRAFT BEER 1. Half-Life. Hazy IPA 2. Necessary Evil. Pilsner 3. Peacekeeper. Blonde 4. Fallout. Hefeweizen 5. Atomic Alliance. Pina Colada IPA If we remove Atomic since it is seasonal, Red Gate (Amber) would hold the fifth position. It might inch even higher later this year! I'll also admit that the TV series called Fallout gave the beer a lovely boost. BEER TO-GO 1. Atomic Alliance. Pina Colada IPA 2. Half-Life. Hazy IPA 3. Necessary Evil. Pilsner 4. Quarter-Life. Hazy IPA 5. Double Half-Life. Hazy IPA Quarter and Double match what I planned for both of these beers. They’re ideal for the off-premise. Did you notice four of the top five beers are IPAs? FOOD 1. Chicken Tenders 2. Braised Pork Arepa 3. Cheeseburger Combo 4. Fries 5. Steak Frites I take back everything I said about never serving tendies. Honestly, I feared it would turn our beer garden into a daycare. It turns out adults love tenders, too. Any surprises on the list?

Saving the Session for people who don't want beer with These Days, the Session Spritz 🍑 *Raising via EIS* | Co-Founder, ex-Seedlip, 10yrs in Drinks, love a good pub.
What if the biggest innovation in beer, wasn't a beer? 💭 Alright, stick with me. That's obviously a little bit 'clickbaity'. What I really mean is... What if the biggest innovation in the beer occasion, wasn't a beer? What if it was another refreshing, sessionable drink? But wait, why is this important? Well, some people don't like beer. Or get a bit bored of beer. We've all been there when you're sat at the pub with the same old pint, thinking 'do I really even want this?' And the alternatives to beer aren't hitting the spot. Some too strong, some too sweet, some take too long to make. The solution? The Session Spritz. Juicy, dry & refreshing. Served fast & consistent on tap. The future of the non-beer drinker is solved. _______ Fancy getting on board with the biggest innovation in the beer occasion? We are about to launch our latest round of funding and are registering interest now. Drop a comment or DM me and I can share more details on the raise & our pitch deck. #spritz #spritzontap #futureofbeer #beer

I can't help it… When everyone else zigs, we zag. I don't think it is intentional, but we are naturally contrarian. Bottled beer is not trending at the moment, but we are having a blast with it. The bottles allow us to fill a small run of limited-release beers that wouldn't usually be available in a to-go format. We don't have to worry about wasted liquid, because it is so efficient due to hand filling them. Efficient with reducing beer waste, not time. ;) And we get to send people home with bottles to share with friends. So far, all the bottles are barrel-aged or bottle-conditioned, which makes them extra special. I'm not hating on typical taproom-exclusive beers, but they won't see bottles. I love our Italian Pils more than anyone else, but it's not quite special or rare enough for a hand-fllled bottle. And most of all, I really love the simple, almost generic label we get to use when it's not distributed. Do your thing, not anyone else's.

I promise this post is not about me. Promise, promise. But take a long hard look at what I’m holding. It’s a beer. Not just any beer. The most beautifully designed beer I did ever saw. I was planning on getting Diet Coke. But as I leant over the bar at a private screening (ahem, flex) of the new Donal Trump movie, I spotted something. The sleekest, freshest most premium looking beers I’ve come across. Called ‘NOAM’. Cooling in a private fridge. “2 of those please”. And that’s when it hit me, this is one of the best challengers brands I’ve come across. I don’t drink lager. And the thought of more than 3 pints makes me feel sick. But having 1 ice cold bottle of premium beer. That I can get behind. The beer market is competitive to say the least. But there is a gold rush opportunity for premium beer and I expect more brands in this space. Ps. Scroll through for the most awkward pose in the world.

Let’s face it: I’m no fan of beer flights. Why? Because they’re served in the wrong type … … of beer glasses. How lazy. 🍺 Beer Glass Types: Redux Now, I’m not a typical “beer snob” (well, maybe 🥴), I’m simply ‘very discriminating’ in how beer is poured and served and drank (quaffed, really), how you put your guest(s) you’re serving — even at home, even yourself — are put on a quantum-high experience that NO ONE will soon forget? Isn’t the whole idea of a taproom’s beer flights — no matter how many are in each flight — to “go all in” on creating a sensory overload on the desired serving taste of each beer style — including ALL five senses, particularly including one’s olfactory nerves AND sense of sight? Tip: Your olfactory nerve anatomy is a part of your central nervous system. There are about six million to 10 million olfactory sensory neurons in each nostril. And everyone’s olfactory nerve is different. Did you know this? Okay, I’ll ask: Why not?? Because … “The best beers are the ones we quaff in the correct type of beer glass.” — Stephen Carter King And there’s more. Much more. *post updated and revised* Next in our series … Beer Glasses: Part Deux Source: The Beerconomist #BeerFlights #Beer #CraftBeer #BeerGlasses #Microbreweries #Pubs #Taprooms #Brewpubs #ConsumerBehavior #BrandAwareness #EmergingTrends #BusinessIntelligence 🔸🔸🔸 Stephen Carter King Chief of Growth and Marketing and Strategy • Beer Market Analyst • Beerconomy CEO • and Beer & Beer Glass Aficionado

I help brands to explore new possibilities and invent new futures | Managing Partner @ The Mighty Shed | Pleasure-Focused-Futurist | Imagine & act on your brand’s future today
A beer that offers “new realms of sensory delight.” Consumers are exploring a wealth of new options across both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, and texture could be a key differentiator. As the Asia Food Journal beautifully puts it, “The beverage industry is poised to enter an era where every sip is an adventure, a discovery of new realms of sensory delight.” By reimagining sensory experiences, we can elevate how, where and when beverages are enjoyed, especially beer… Enter Azvex Brewing Company’s Scoop. An ice cream sour that has a unique ritual and makes drinking beer a texture-driven journey of the senses. That’s what I felt like just by watching Dan and his 1-Minute Beer Review — he’s calling it the “Beer of the Year” already. https://lnkd.in/eDyMBYEe If you’re looking to try it (like me), it’s out of stock right now but it might actually be a beer that replaces a dessert. It’s memorable. It’s unique. It’s playful. It’s experimental. But, best of all? It’s pleasurable.
