This is a post that I was hoping to not have to write, but Evening Star has been swept up in the same turbulence that has affected so many of our peers in the games industry for the last year and a half. Despite our best efforts to secure another project to keep our team together, we are in the unfortunate situation of having to lay off some of the folks that have worked with us for the last few years on Penny's Big Breakaway. If you have room on your project for some best in class developers who shipped a critically beloved console title, then look no further than these amazing game devs: ART • Claire Warren (3D Artist) • Natalia Beltrán (3D Artist) ENGINEERING • Justin Akan-Etuk (Gameplay Engineer) DESIGN • Esteban Fajardo (Senior Game Designer) • Milena Correa (Game Designer) PRODUCTION • John F. (Producer) I cannot stress enough how amazing they all were to work with, how talented they are in their respective disciplines, and how lucky any team would be to have them on their project. Please don't hesitate to reach out if there are any opportunities that you would like to share with these folks, or if you would like a reference for them. Reposts would also be highly appreciated as I hope to get the word out to as many recruiters as possible.
This is a stand-up way to do your best after 'the best' has been done... Good luck to your former team members. I hope this comment raises some awareness to their availability in my own feed.
thank you so much for helping your team find their next opportunity. you're doing great dave, and always an amazing mentor. <3
I am sorry for this tough time, good of you to do what you can to help the team. The tide will shift again, wishing you smoother waters in the near future.
I saw lots of openings at the Blizzard even though they laid off people. Try the slot machines industry.
Dave that’s awfully kind of you. Thanks for spreading good faith and doing your part to help our fellow teammates. Penny’s Big Breakaway was a fun title and I could tell a lot of heart was poured into it. IT in general is going through it and these types of posts are a nice gesture that shows conpassion. Best to all affected and I have reshared your post.
Very sorry to hear that. But I must say tat I appreciate the way you are handling it with concern and trying to help them land safely. It has been such a Annus Horribilis for the game industry.
Sorry to hear the news D-Pad. Its never easy having to make those decisions. Hopefully another project will come along soon.
So sorry that you and your team have to deal with so much stress!
I'm so sorry to read this news. I'm sharing for my network, and hope they all find great new roles.

1moYou're a legitimate business owner and team leader, Dave. Layoffs are never easy for those that actually care about the members of their team. Thanks for sharing and I will keep an eye out for opportunities that may seem like a fit (as well as keep these folks in mind should a need come up from FV's side in the near future).
