It was a pleasure to welcome Normandy veterans Jim Grant and Henry Rice to the museum today. It was the first time the pair had seen their portraits. They spent most of the day at the museum chatting to visitors. 'The lucky ones grow old' photography exhibition is only on for another week and end on 18th January.

What is art? What is original? When photography was first offered as art, many pushed back. Yet it is now perfectly acceptable to "see" photography as art. Digital art of any kind was not considered art. Yet, now there are museums devoted to the craft. The definition of art continues to evolve as GenAI advances. The definition of art and the value of the remix will adapt to how humans create and interact with their creativity. What do you think?

The ocean has a way of mesmerising the viewer, sometimes it's calm and peaceful and other times it can be wild and turbulent. Photographing the ocean reminds one of how small mankind is in relation to the natural world. #oceanphotography #fineartprints #artwork #fineartinteriordesign #limitededition #contemporaryphotography #fineartphotography

Larval settlement is a critical process in a coral's life. Site selection is essential to ensure the coral's 'forever home' is ideal. Crustose coralline algae (CCA), exometabolites they produce and, the specific bacteria they host, all provide important settlement-inducing cues. Coral larvae survey the CCA, detecting these settlement signals and scanning the surface texture to find a niche that is just right. Time-lapse videos give us an excellent visulisation of this behaviour and a deeper understanding of the underlying mechanisms involved. 5000 image 12 hour time-lapse.
