Moving ahead to introduce our #HumansofDEEP actively using the platform. Nicola Iris Padamada is working at Save the Children International as Regional Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning Advisor for Middle East, North Africa and Eastern Europe. She has been creating a number of DEEP projects, including a Gaza needs insight during the first few months following the 7th of October 2023, and a Children Needs and Situational Analysis, which has been helpful for the Save the Children strategy 2025-2027, and where few countries in the region collaborated together.

Our new research 🎉 Door Beyond War started a series of research on the Youth of Syria in 2021. We began with "Youth Meaningful Participation" (https://lnkd.in/euanMgvc) to delve into the first pillar of UNSCR2250. After that, we explored partnerships and networks (https://lnkd.in/dZejUqaY) to discover how partnerships can enabling the agencies of Syrian youth, examining how youth-led groups, CBOs, and NGOs working with youth achieve this in practice. This year, we decided to delve even deeper into partnership dynamics by researching *Accountability* as a pivotal component of partnerships (https://lnkd.in/ebs9quXz). Additionally, we planed to research the impact of subgrants on youth-led groups and CBOs (COMING SOON ⏳ ). What should be our next step???

Did our 2023 peacebuilding initiatives actually make people's lives better? After over 40 years of peacebuilding, we've come to understand that peace looks different in each of the 36 countries where we work. This means we can't come in with a predetermined solution. Instead, we must be ready to meet the moment, to listen to communities and what they need. So what does meeting the moment look like for the communities we serve? In 2023, our impact looked like this: • 38 million people engaged through Search programming worldwide. • A 48% increase in the number of people who feel safe walking around the area where they live in South Sudan. • 90% of our program participants felt empowered to influence their surroundings and contribute positively to their communities in Myanmar. • 76% of youth engaged through our inclusive government programming reported satisfaction with services they sought from authorities, and 55% believed decision-making is inclusive and responsive in Jordan. • The number of community members who see the value of collaboration as a way to address issues increasing by 73% in the Central African Republic. Meeting the moment to make lives better is a unique process for every community. Learn more about our results in 2023 from our annual Impact Report: sfcg.org/2023-impact/

Kenya's youth are a dynamic force with immense potential to drive the nation forward. However, challenges like unemployment, limited education, and social exclusion hinder their progress and contribute to instability. By investing in programs that foster social inclusion and prevent violence, we can harness this potential. Drawing insights from successful initiatives like the Kenya Youth Employment and Opportunities Project (KYEOP), we can develop effective strategies to empower young people and build a stronger Kenya. ✍🏻Learn more about these strategies and how to implement them in our post below.
