🔧 𝗙𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆: Insufficient Electrical Containment In every project over the past 12 years, a common issue persists: the electrical containment designs provided by MEP consultants during RIBA Stage 4 do not allow enough primary containment. 1. The top image shows a RIBA Stage 4 electrical containment drawing from the MEP consultant, with primary containment routes shown in circulation areas.     2. The bottom image depicts the contractor's drawing, developed with additional containment needed to ensure the actual wiring can be installed. This problem occurs frequently across all contract types, whether design-and-build or design-development. Consultants typically 'label' their designs as Stage 4a, leading to a grey area in deliverables. 𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗶𝘀𝘀𝘂𝗲: • 20%-50% of Additional Primary Containment 𝗶𝘀 𝗮𝗹𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀 needed Ensuring sufficient primary containment in the initial design is crucial to avoid costly adjustments. 💬 Have you experienced similar challenges in your projects?
