It's International Hummus Day! Give this homemade recipe a try - we've even included a few variations😍 Instructions: -In a food processor, combine the chickpeas, minced garlic, tahini, lemon juice, olive oil, ground cumin, and a pinch of salt. -Blend the ingredients until smooth, scraping down the sides of the food processor as needed. If the hummus is too thick, add water, 1 tablespoon at a time, until you reach your desired consistency. -Once the hummus is smooth and creamy, taste and adjust the seasoning as needed, adding more salt or lemon juice if desired. -If you're adding any of the optional add-ins, fold them into the hummus until evenly distributed. -Transfer the hummus to a serving bowl and drizzle with a little extra olive oil. Garnish with a sprinkle of cumin or smoked paprika, if desired. -Serve the homemade hummus with fresh vegetables, pita bread, or whole grain crackers for dipping.

Fizzy cucumber anyone? Everyone is probably looking at this thinking it's swamp water 😂 These are my "kiszone ogórki" aka lacto fermented gherkins. I learned how to ferment from my grandmother, my aunties and uncles. Growing up on the farm everyone was pickling and fermenting. This one is my second favourite to a dill pickle. Long recipe short, you need good homegrown gherkins, water and salt. I like to add horseradish root, dill umbels and a lot of garlic. These are absolutely amazing for gut health because they contain lactic acid and the fermentation process itself creates a distinct, and complex umami flavour that everyone loves. You can actually drink the brine as it's delicious and packed with electrolytes. (my secret hangover cure) These bad boys are still fizzing because I got impatient and opened them when they were still fermenting, don't worry I ate all of them. There are so many things to love about a new season including the beautiful fresh produce and for me it's all about delicious plump, soft, juicy figs. My go to lunch at the moment is a fig & watermelon salad with finely shaved prosciutto and Manchego. Super easy to make and so yummy. INGREDIENTS 6 figs, cut into wedges 600 gm watermelon, thinly sliced and cut into rough triangles 6 slices of finely shaved prosciutto Thinly sliced Manchego Basil leaves, to serve Honey dressing 2 tbsp extra-virgin olive oil 1 tbsp white wine vinegar 1 tsp honey METHOD 1. For honey dressing, shake ingredients in a sealed screw-top jar to combine and season to taste. 2. Arrange figs, watermelon and prosciutto on a platter. Top with basil and Manchego, season to taste, and drizzle with dressing to serve.

𝗧𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀 𝗙𝗼𝗿 𝗧𝗵𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆: 𝗡𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗲... I love food! And, I especially love food from my favorite restaurants. The thing is that I go to my spots and always for the same things. Because, I know what to expect. Usually frequent family owned restaurants that have used a family recipe that has been handed down,perfected and never changed In life you may have a recipe for happiness. It’s a way of life that works for you and it’s been that way for a while because it’s taken you years to perfect your recipe! Too many cooks will spoil the dish! It’s ok to listen to what others are doing but always remember just because they are doing something different than you are, it may work for them but that doesn’t mean it will work for you. So listen to others just as a consideration and, maybe what they are saying might make sense at the time, so maybe some minor adjustments are ok to test out. But, always remember when you find the recipe for life that makes you happy don’t ever totally change it. I mean if it's not broken why try to fix it? My friend shared this delicious recipe and I wanted to post it for all of you Salmon lovers! 🍣 Ingredients: 1 lb. wild salmon, cut into 2" cubes sea salt and pepper, to taste 3 Tbsp raw honey 1 Tbsp soy sauce, or coconut aminos 1 Tbsp fresh lime juice 1 Tbsp avocado oil, or olive oil fresh lime wedges fresh chopped parsley Instructions: Season the salmon with salt and pepper. In a small bowl, mix the honey, soy sauce and lime juice together, whisk to combine well. Heat up large skillet with the oil. Once it’s heated, add the salmon and cook for a couple of minutes. Add the honey mixture into the skillet, spooning the honey lime sauce over the salmon. Cook for additional 6-8 minutes, until the salmon is just cooked through/flaky and the sauce is reduced a bit. Garnish with fresh chopped parsley, lime and serve immediately with brown rice, or quinoa.
