Long before Trump and even Reagan, the Conservative standard-bearer was a Mid-Atlantic intellectual snob named William F. Buckley, who with another remarkable mind, Brent Bozell, essentially defined the modern conservatism that bore guys like Reagan and Newt Gingrich. A HOUSE DIVIDED: DONALD TRUMP AND THE TRANSFORMATION OF AMERICAN POLITICS - PDF: https://lnkd.in/gdccRNdw Taking as its methodological principle the requirement to articulate long-term trends and conjunctural determinants as key to the analysis of political change, this article reviews the literature on political polarization in American society and reconstructs the ascension process of the conservative movement, as essential elements for the interpretation of the Trump phenomenon. It shows, however, that the latter is only understandable by integrating into the analysis the impact of the 2008 financial crisis, the election of Barack Obama - the first black president in US history - and the consequent outbreak of the Tea Party, a reactionary movement that had a strong destabilizing effect on the Republican Party, paving the way for the New York tycoon’s overwhelming rush.

Startup Funding - Get Funded Successfully "Every Startup is a search for a successful repeatable, scalable, profitable business model using innovation as a lever."
In Sun Tzu's Art of War, he rates Surprise & (mis)communication as the biggest weapon in war, politics & business. Barrack Obama knew if Biden withdraws 12 months before that will leave space open within Dems. Also till last moment projection Biden , made Trump focus on Biden . Now suddenly forcing Biden to withdraw at the last moment leaves no option but for Dems to support Harris. For Trump it become more difficult than before. Surprise & communication is also important in Business to get attention from Customers, Vendors, Investors. https://lnkd.in/gYymAjMm

#HillbillyElegy: From Memoir to Trump's new #VPNominee I remember reading this book when it came out and regardless of J.D's politics, his story is compelling and it talks to the Hope of Opportunity in the USA today. Not the hope of the billionaire class or the establishment media whose job it is now to destroy him, but to the people who feel ignored in a system of overt crony capitalism. His trajectory took him from from the heart of Appalachian America to the national political stage and soon he will possibly be a Vice President. This post is not about supporting or denouncing Donald Trump but reflecting on JD's story. In Hillbilly Elegy, Vance shares a deeply personal narrative of growing up in a working-class family in Middletown, Ohio, with roots in the hills of Kentucky. His memoir offers an unflinching look at the struggles faced by many in the Rust Belt—economic hardship, addiction, and a sense of cultural dislocation. Through his story, Vance provides a voice to this segment of America that often feels overlooked and misunderstood. His journey from a troubled childhood to serving in the Marine Corps, attending Ohio State University, and graduating from Yale Law School is a testament to resilience and the transformative power of education and opportunity. Vance’s memoir resonates with many who see in his story the challenges and aspirations of their own lives. It is hard not to feel a little bit pleased as this story unfolds. Is he a good pick for VP? Time will tell. I predicted Marco Rubio as he would likely attract a different segment of the electorate and help diversify Trump's support base. I would think that JD's base would vote for Trump regardless. Whether you agree with his politics or not, J.D. Vance’s story is undeniably compelling—a testament to the possibility of change and the enduring power of hope and perseverance. What do you think of this choice? #JDVance #HillbillyElegy #Politics #Leadership #Resilience #AmericanStory

#politics #unitedstates #NobelPrize The city of Philadelphia, the birthplace of the Constitution, is hosting the only debate of the critical 2024 general election between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump. Both political parties, representing antipodal political views, Harris on the far left and Trump on the far right have raised serious and unacceptable concerns about the political viability of the founding documents of the United States, Declaration of Independence and Constitution. Philadelphia is named after the Greek words "phílos" (meaning "love" or "friendship") and "adelphós" (meaning "brother"). Combined, the name means "City of Brotherly Love." The city was founded in 1682 by William Penn, an English Quaker, after whom the state of Pennsylvania, a key swing state in this election, is named, who chose the name as part of his vision to create a place where people of different religious beliefs could live together in harmony. Penn's naming of Philadelphia reflected his desire for the city to embody principles of tolerance, peace, and unity, which were central to Quaker beliefs. Benjamin Franklin played a pivotal role in the history of Philadelphia, where he lived for much of his life after moving there in 1723. In Philadelphia, Franklin became a successful printer, publishing the "Pennsylvania Gazette" and "Poor Richard's Almanack," which brought him wealth and fame. Franklin was a prominent figure contributing to the drafting of the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution, both of which were discussed and signed in Philadelphia. His experiments with electricity and inventions, like the lightning rod, solidified his legacy as a leading scientist and inventor both in Europe and in America. The upcoming debate scheduled for September 10, 2024, will be organized by ABC News. The event will take place at the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia and will be moderated by David Muir and Linsey Davis. This is the first of the planned debates between Harris and Trump for the 2024 presidential election. The venue, National Constitution Center (NCC) in Philadelphia, is an important institution dedicated to the U.S. Constitution and American civic education. It was established by the Constitution Heritage Act of 1988. Located on Independence Mall, just steps away from Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell, the NCC serves as both a museum and an educational hub. The Constitution Heritage Act of 1988 was a federal law enacted by the U.S. Congress to create the National Constitution Center (NCC) in Philadelphia. The primary goal of the act was to establish a museum and an educational center dedicated to promoting public understanding of the U.S. Constitution. Signed into law by President Ronald Reagan, this act represented an effort to enhance civic education and encourage public engagement with constitutional principles. "Read Kamala Harris (D) v. Donald Trump (R) in Philadelphia in 2024 and 1776", article is free ...

Many of us yearn for that feeling when Captain Sullenberger landed on the Hudson: a celebration of humanity and how one person with steeled resolve can save many lives. In every interview, Sully credited EVERYONE as the hero: 155, the crew, the rescuers, and the tower. His message was of grace and unity, that together we win. We can each be that hero; 331 million small actions will make it so. Most of us ache for unity, love, hope, and belief in this American Dream that we haven’t collectively reached yet. For some, sure, yet imagine the shining glory when we create something that has never existed in this world. Let’s create a future together; America doesn’t go back. Listening to Harris/Walz this week has so many of us JOYSCROLLING instead of doomscrolling. America can feel like a team again and we can improve all of our lives. (After all, our country's initials are US) This article describes a man who will honor the office of Vice President. "He understands that America’s strength lies in our ability to come together as fellow Americans, not in shouting at each other with petty name-calling." Walz sees fellow Americans as NEIGHBORS, not enemies. We need people in the White House who help Americans turn TOWARD each other, not ON each other. Let's create a future TOGETHER. #HarrisWalz https://lnkd.in/gEanpgXT
I served with Tim Walz as a Republican in the House. He'll be a good vice president
