A chilling encounter with a stranger sets a family on a terrifying path in "Shaitaan." But beyond jump scares, the film explores the deeper horror: how fear and belief can manipulate our minds. The characters, convinced of black magic's influence, become puppets to the villain's words. This begs the question: is the true fear external forces, or the manipulation of vulnerable minds? In today's world, critical thinking is key to navigating belief systems and avoiding manipulation. Films like "Shaitaan" offer a window into the psychology of fear and belief. How do you think such films influence our understanding of the world? Share your thoughts below! #PsychologyofHorror #SupernaturalBeliefs #CriticalThinking #films

IS IT VAMPIRE OR VAMPYRE? BOOKS and movies have established stereotypes, one of the truly iconic ones being Vampires, or, as JET Progress/Draqual Media in their new film, AUDIENCE WITH A VAMPYRE would say, Vampyres. A quick internet search will reveal that ‘Vampyre’ appears to be the older spelling, but it’s also thought to refer to a different kind of vampire. Vampires are mythological creatures that suck blood while Vampyres ultimately suck life energy. There is no difference to the victim, the two practices often being one and the same. Vampyrism is a particular reflection on the perils of unrestrained power as well as how it can damage people’s lives. There are said to be mixed types of vampires: sanguinarian, psychic, and hybrids. Sanguinarians feed on human blood, generally just a few drops. Psychic vampires suck blood and/or life energy. There are, however, literally tens of different kinds of hybrids. One particularly interesting kind of hybrid is Kendell Valiusa, the main character in the JET Progress/Draqual Media movie AUDIENCE WITH A VAMPIRE. Kendell embodies all three types, quite happy to drink a victim dry, even injecting a small amount of his own blood at the end if desired to, create a vampyre “offspring.” As one of Heaven’s original “fallen angels,” Kendell also has the power to create dhampirs (sometimes spelled dhampyre,s dhamphirs, or dhampyrs) – creatures that are the result of a union between a vampire/vampyre and a human. But I digress. Review: Speak No Evil Rating: 3.5/5 Speak No Evil is an effective thriller, analyzing human politeness and our ability to ignore red flags. It builds tension nicely as the story escalates, highlighted by a wonderfully creepy James McAvoy performance. But an underwhelming third act and some odd characterization concludes the story on a muddled result. Still, this is a worthwhile time at the movies that plays nicely with a crowd. #speaknoevil https://lnkd.in/gTzQNaAX
