We’re thrilled to announce our collaboration with Eastway Behavioral Healthcare in opening a new food pantry in Dayton, scheduled for July 10. As one of Ohio’s largest mental health care agencies, Eastway is taking a holistic approach to care by addressing food insecurity and other basic needs among their clients. This new site will be set up like a grocery store, making it easier for clients to access the nutritious food they need. We’re proud to support Eastway in their mission to ensure no one has to choose between hunger and health. #FoodInsecurity #MentalHealth https://lnkd.in/gttqhjS3

People-centric Hubs Missional food pantries impact communities by serving as people-centric hubs where care and compassion are prioritized. They focus on volunteers, recipients, and partners, nurturing leaders and equipping volunteers to connect with people on a deeper level. Founder & Managing Director at Objective | Investment Banking & Valuation | Advising Middle-Market Business Owners on Their Sale to Private Equity
At Objective, we help business owners maximize the value of their companies through proven valuation tools and sell-side M&A strategies. What truly sets us apart, though, is our core mission: helping business owners achieve their personal and professional objectives. We’re grateful for the opportunity to not only support our clients but to also build lasting friendships with them. We’re proud to be part of a growing community of excellent leaders who share similar values. One of these inspiring leaders is Gregg Burt, Founder of +BOX. I first met Gregg when I helped him sell Hart Intercivic to H.I.G. Capital. It’s been incredible to see him continue fulfilling his passion for charity through +BOX Farmstead Feast, which I had the pleasure of attending this past weekend at The Old Rancho in Carlsbad. +BOX was born out of a need during the COVID-19 pandemic to provide an essential third meal to families in need, free of charge. Leveraging the existing school lunch program infrastructure, they distribute healthy and nutritious dinner kits to families already in the school lunch line. These kits contain ingredients for at least one square meal for a family of four and are curated with fresh, nutrient-dense products. In just one school trial, +BOX provided 50 meal kits to needy families in just 20 minutes—400 total meals! By the end of 2022, they will have distributed nearly 225 tons of fresh, healthy food, equating to 375,000 free, nutritious meals to families across Southern California. Human Being -OR- Human Race Reflecting on the essence of our existence, I often oscillate between being a ‘Human Being’ and part of the ‘Human Race.’ The former seeks connection and presence, while the latter is caught in the relentless pursuit of doing. This dichotomy can cast a shadow over us, as it did for me, Founder, Chief Hunger Fighter of www.satisfeed.org, during a moment of vulnerability. My experience, shared on LinkedIn and Instagram, resonates with many. It’s a reminder that amidst the hustle, we must carve out space for being—to nurture our mental and physical health. SATISFEED’s mission, fueled by my passion, mirrors this balance. It’s not just about distributing food; it’s about fostering relationships and building a community where everyone has a place at the table. Our organization’s growth, from serving 40 families bi-monthly to over 300 weekly, demanded a shift from pen-and-paper to a digital system, a transition encouraged by the Board, Staff, and the Atlanta Community Food Bank. This change, though arduous, reflects the ‘doing’ part of SATISFEED—implementing efficient systems to support our expanding reach. Yet, at its core, SATISFEED remains a testament to ‘being’—a compassionate response to human need, a beacon of hope in Gwinnett County. It’s a reminder that in our fast-paced world, the true race is not against time but towards meaning and connection. As we navigate the ‘do-do-do,’ let’s not forget to pause, to dwell, and to be—fully human, fully alive.
