Very interesting report about European FoodTech Companies 2023 from DigitalFoodLab. Some takeaways:   - European FoodTech startups raised €4.3B in 2023, a 35% decrease from 2022, and 56% from 2021.  - France and the UK dominate, making up half of all deals.  - Investments are moving from delivery models to agtech, food science, and supply chain innovations. 🌳 Last week, I had the incredible honor of being invited as a jury member at the AgriFoodTech & Bioeconomy Startup Pitch Battle 2024, powered by Innovation Agency Lithuania in collaboration with Baltic Sandbox Ventures. 🎯 It was truly inspiring to witness the innovation and passion of the startups participating in the event. With so many brilliant ideas and solutions on display, it was no easy task to select the top contenders. 🌟 💡 A few tips for startups gearing up for their next pitch battle (when presenting in front of the jury, ensure your presentation is top-notch by considering these key elements): ➡ Highlight the innovative aspects of your product. What sets it apart from competitors? Emphasize what makes your product truly unique and innovative. ➡ Clearly define your target market. Demonstrate how your product meets the needs of the market and outline your market entry strategy. Who are your users? Make sure they're clearly defined in your presentation. ➡Showcase a clear business model. Articulate how your product will generate revenue and sustain growth in the long term. ➡Introduce your talented team. Provide photos and compelling descriptions that leave no doubt about the expertise, vision, and motivation of your team members. 🌟 Navigating New Markets and Scaling in Food and Agritech Startups, what a fantastic and challenging topic! 🌱 On June 19, I was delighted to participate in the EIT Food Sales Booster for the second time as a Panel Member. The topic? Exploring new markets and scaling—a fascinating and challenging subject that fuels innovation in countless ways.   Scaling isn’t just about groundbreaking inventions; it’s also about adapting to shifting landscapes. Staying curious, exploring new ideas and pivoting in a creative way are in my opinion equally vital to succeed! 💡 🔍 During the panel discussion, my fellow panelists and I discussed an important point for startups: Before that all-important introductory meeting, take the time to thoroughly understand what your potential partners do. Jot down your insights and share them during the conversation. This approach aligns expectations, demonstrates your commitment, and highlights how your startup can complement their company. Think of it as speed-dating for collaboration! 💡 🙌 Special thanks to Elena Salamandîc-Alijošienė for moderating and her team behind the scenes for organizing this event.
