Excellent example of social microfinance, of an unique business model
📍Earlier this year, we went to Barcelona to visit our partner Treball Solidari and meet with some of their clients and employees. 🌍 Founded in 2000, Treball Solidari is an NGO that puts in place microcredit program intended to help migrant women in Spain and foster female entrepreneurship. Since 2021, Treball Solidari is a client of Helenos. 🎬 Starting today and during the next few weeks, we will share three interviews we made in Barcelona. We asked them about their job, the NGO and what they have been able to achieve with Treball Solidari’s microcredits and help. 👩🏻 Our first interviewee is Johana Carvajal, psychologist and loan officer at Treball Solidari, introduces us to the NGO, giving an overview of the organization and explaining her work with the clients. Enjoy the short movie! Treball Solidari @JohanaCarvajal Antonio Sierra Rincon #Helenos #migrantsupport #trueimpact

As a female immigrant from the Middle East, navigating my journey to financial independence and self-employment has been far from easy. My entrepreneurial path wasn't just about growing a business; it was about constantly challenging ingrained perceptions and judgments. Despite the obstacles, I've drawn inspiration from the remarkable efforts of countless women in Norway who are committed to empowering one another. Their care, dedication, and support have played a pivotal role in shaping my journey. 📍During each community gathering I attended, I couldn't help but reflect on other immigrant women – those whose lives seem predetermined, from whom to spend a life with, to what to want, how to behave, and what to dedicate their lives to, and more – and pondered how they too could be included in this empowering community. ✨I want to see that every woman, regardless of her situation, feels empowered to pursue financial independence and self-employment. 🌱Together with the The Conduit , we extend an invitation to you to join us in realizing this vision starting with this event: https://lnkd.in/dq63fAdD Hope to see many of you.
