Over the past year, I have dedicated myself to continuous learning, investing significant time in revisiting numerous masterclasses to refine and elevate my skill set. A major focus of these endeavors has been to deepen my comprehension of human anatomy and the intricate principles underpinning aesthetic treatments. This immersive journey has been both gratifying and challenging, instilling within me a profound sense of reverence and caution. Engaging in these studies has been a source of immense satisfaction as it has enhanced my understanding of the intricacies involved in aesthetic procedures. Simultaneously, it has also evoked a sense of apprehension, a sentiment I view as a positive indicator of my respect for the procedures and an acknowledgment of the associated risks. Embracing this blend of enthusiasm and apprehension signifies my commitment to upholding the highest standards of care and safety within the realm of aesthetics. It underscores the gravity I place on comprehending not just the "how" but also the "why" behind each procedure, recognizing the responsibility inherent in providing these treatments. This balanced perspective motivates me to approach aesthetic practices with diligence, expertise, and an unwavering dedication to the well-being and satisfaction of those under my care. 🔍 LIFE OF AN ANATOMY STUDENT 📚 🎬Episode 2: It's Not a Do or Die Affair I remember slamming my textbook shut in frustration, telling myself it wasn’t a do-or-die affair after hours of studying and getting stuck on the same page. After my first lecture, I committed to learning, familiarizing myself with anatomical terms, and surrounding myself with people who could help. But the challenges didn’t end there—understanding the complexities of the human body is one thing, but retaining all that information is another. We were informed to prepare for our first CA on Gross Anatomy of the limbs. The night before the exam, I resolved to absorb as much as possible. I pulled out my BD Chaurasia’s textbook on Gross Anatomy of the upper and lower limbs. Then, the real struggle began. I remember trying to cram the content of one page and getting stuck for hours. It was the brachial plexus 🥺. Frustrated and exhausted, I wondered, "Who can finish an entire textbook in one night?" I told myself again, "It’s not a do-or-die affair," closed my textbook, and went to bed. I woke up to my alarm at 5:30 a.m., with the exam starting at 8 a.m. Panicking, I jumped out of bed and tried to cram whatever I could in the little time left. Long story short, when the results came out, I had failed. I got an "E" (40 marks), which deeply affected my CGPA since it was the only 3-unit course of the semester—most others were 2-unit courses. Thinking of my parents' sacrifices, I told myself that for the next exam, it's a do and pass affair 🤣. In the next semester, I noticed my results improved because I started revising each topic after class, which made studying for exams much easier. Curious about my final CGPA? Feel free to ask me boldly in my DMs 🤣🤣. #StudyStruggles #GrossAnatomy #StudentJourney #MedicalSchoolDiaries #ExamStruggles #StudyMotivation #CollegeLife #DoAndPassAffair #StudentMindset #AnatomyChallenges #StudyHacks #ExamPrep

Representation · Education and · Reputation June 2024 As EOFY approaches everyone will be reviewing their MDO offerings. The landscape, as most will appreciate, has changed dramatically in the last five years. There has been a noticeable increased requirement for the demonstration/completion of appropriate CPD for your scope of practice, as well as accompanying changes in procedures categories and premiums to match. The CPD changes have taken some time for our community to get used to, and you will need to be enrolled in a CPD Home before you can start to catalogue your CPD. If you do not complete your CPD, your registration may be at risk, it is advisable to ensure you cover all your scope of practice. On the topic of CPD Homes, the evaluation round begins in July, 2024, it is notable that beyond those established accredited colleges, not too many new CPD Homes have succeeded. Join ACAM, to appreciate the help you can access with your CPD Home enrolment and CPD structure. Conference round up · The NSS is almost upon us, if you are planning on coming to Queensland next weekend, come by and see the ACAM crew at our booth. All members enjoy a generous discounted registration fees. · A following the NSS in June, is NZCAM in NZ, which has moved back to Queenstown, and again all members enjoy a discounted registration fee. · And of course, Aesthetics.au in August, 2024. In addition to the major conferences, ACAM has begun its Educational Dinners, the most recent held in Sydney last Thursday 6th June, and despite the torrential rain and ferocious lightening, the room was filled. This dinner was graciously sponsored by Cryomed. Well done Dr Khan for your organization. Dr Khan has set the next Dinner meeting date for the 25th go July, 2024 (NSW). Watch for dinner notices and get together’s in other states. These free ACAM educational activities and social gatherings are open to all cosmetic physicians, ACAM members and members from other representative colleges. ACAM was a NFP in the regulation of NSW, the college is moving to NFP status at the federal government level. This process has seen the modernization of the constitution, the production of our policy and procedural managements and an overhaul of the ACAM website and administration team. ACAM has completed the governance task for and is now equipped with all policies and procedures in place to meet the college's future requirements. Given the reshaping of the organization over the last couple of years, and the college’s response to the many changes in legislation and guidelines, it is important for the growth of the organization that it has a modern policy and procedure manual. When we educate the future of British hairdressing in our colleges, academies and salons, we encourage standards and quality. We tell them they can do and be anything. What we should tell them is that how that is achieved requires Top quality and excellence in everything from their attitude to their equipment. What tools we provide them with to achieve success will determine their confidence, comfort and outcomes. When colleges provide good equipment they teach the importance it has in that learners chances of achieving excellence. They also send a message of encouragement and belief in the learner by themselves as the educators, by showing they are worthy of that quality. Scissors are one of, if not the most important tool a hairdresser will ever own. The impact of poor quality scissors is two fold 1, Poor haircuts 2, Poor health outcomes for the user. We don’t throw children in swimming pools and expect them to swim, we provide the safest equipment and skills to help them succeed. We don’t provide flip flops to budding athletes and expect them to run marathons, we provide the safest most comfortable foot wear to get the job done. To find out how Matakki Scissors can support your learners for better outcomes through their equipment and knowledge of it, drop me a message. Lets start our learners as we expect them to go on and achieve greatness for educators, learners, industry standards and the consumer. Quality isn’t just an outcome it’s a pursuit ✂️✂️ andrew barton ALWAYS INSPIRING ❤️ 🙌🏽
