A new model of care is urgent
I’m excited to announce the establishment of a New National Support Network for First Nations Youth. The Message Stick Foundation is a national not-for-profit organisation that aims is to give our youth a Voice, a Purpose and a Future by creating purpose built safe spaces that delivers a new model of care. My vision is to break the current cycle of disadvantage for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander youth and stop another lost generation. We're excited to share more highlights from our Annual Report for 2023-2024 📒 Last year was a milestone year for the Newfoundland and Labrador Integrated Youth Services (NL-IYS) movement with the announcement of $4.3 million in funding dedicated to developing two new IYS sites across the province ✨ There is currently one IYS site operating in NL, CFY’s Outreach and Youth Engagement (OYE) Centre at Carter’s Hill Place, with the two confirmed future sites to be established in regional rural hubs.
