Happy Juneteeth - A day that commemorates the freedom of enslaved Africans in America. As you have the opportunity to have this day off, don't take it just as an off day, but take time to reflect and honor the history and resilience of African Americans. Reflect on what this day's place is in America's history through seeking to educate yourselves on the history of slavery and oppression and how it plays into our current systems. Learning about these uncomfortable truths is what drives change towards creating an equitable and inclusive society. Intentionally connect with your African American friends, family, colleagues to continue to deepen your understanding, while also being mindful of the exhaustion that they may experience from having these conversations. Use this day as an ignition to continue to advocate for racial justice within the spaces you occupy and create spaces where individuals can be their authentic selves. Connect with the community by attending Juneteeth events (that are hosted everywhere, just google) to immerse yourself in the culture and experience the joy of togetherness. #juneteeth #advocacy #inclusion
