Exciting news for our community! Two talented teens from the Carolinas have been elected to the BBYO International Board, showcasing the strength and positivity of Jewish youth leadership. Logan Reich, the incoming international Sh’aliach (VP of Judaism, Social Action, and Community Service) from Asheville, NC (second male from the left), and Abby Bluestein, the incoming international Morah (VP of Membership) from Charleston, SC (third female from the right), are shining examples of dedication and passion. The BBYO International Board is the executive leadership team of the global Jewish teen movement BBYO, responsible for overseeing and guiding the organization's activities and initiatives worldwide. It is so important for students to see themselves represented in influential leadership positions at school, showing them what's possible for their own lives and careers. However, while the number of school-aged Black and Latino children has increased significantly, Black and Latino men make up only 13% of school principals in the U.S. To help ensure students see themselves reflected in the educators and leaders around them, NFBLME: The National Fellowship for Black and Latino Male Educators is working to close this gap. Through its unique programming, the organization helps Black and Latino men become principals and leaders throughout the education sector. https://lnkd.in/eeH-Jmwg

Remember these two words: Selective and Recognizable. When it comes to leadership positions, strive to obtain leadership roles in recognizable organizations such as NHS, STUCO, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts. Leadership roles in well-known organizations that are selective of their members and where you are elected for your position will earn you more points with the Academies.
