Two weeks ago we attended IMTS - International Manufacturing Technology Show in Chicago. As usual it is an amazing experience. You have probably already seen posts from my colleagues at Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence about how busy and exciting the show was. As usual we used the opportunity to learn about some new startups and see some old friends. GelSight had a booth and attended the show for the first time. It was a good time to catch up with Youssef Benmokhtar and Dennis Lang. Their booth was jumping. We also caught up with our friends from Flexxbotics, especially Tyler Bouchard and had a few working meetings to plan out our collaboration through the end of 2025. Of course, sometimes you run into really old friends. Frederic Scherer was there with JITbase showing their new scheduling tools. By total coincidence our new friends from Lambda Function were stationed next door to JITbase. Unfortunately due to our schedule we missed Chris Kuntz from Augmentir who are doing some amazing things with their partnership with ETQ. We also missed Stefan Domdey from Threedy GmbH - instant3Dhub. We saw an amazing demo from Visometry GmbH and also saw an interesting demo from Amper Technologies. We also attended a great get together by Julian Counihan and Aditya Raghupathy from Schematic Ventures where we ran into an old friend Riley Hall now with Newlab and had follow up conversation with Michael Bogomolny, Ph.D. From InfinitForm - keep an eye on these guys. They will be big. Finally we had time to catch up with Arye Barnehama from Elementary and learn where his journey currently is taking him. Overal an amazing few days with exciting conversations. On April 22nd, we were thrilled to attend the AMI Stretch and Shrink Film 2024 event hosted by AMI. One of the highlights was our visit to ITENE and their impressive laboratories. 🧪 🚚 Specifically, our visit to the Transport Simulation Laboratory highlighted the significant benefits of using transport simulation machines. 🚀 Today we want to share some insights into our latest research on #Digital #Prototyping, a field that is reshaping how we approach product development and innovation. In our current study, we uncover the transformative power of Digital Prototyping across various industries: from automotive 🚗 to consumer electronics 📱, digital prototypes have accelerated development cycles, enhanced product quality, and reduced costs significantly. We develop and test a measurement tool for firm's digital prototyping capability, which comprises three dimensions: (1) virtualizing products/services, (2) processing of premature solutions, and (2) including feedback and iterating. 🙏 A heartfelt thank you to the many participants in our survey. Your experiences have highlighted Digital Prototyping as not just a tool for designers and engineers, but as a strategic asset for entire organizations, fostering collaboration, creativity, and efficiency.
