Telcos have all this data about #TV audiences, including what people are streaming on their phones, why aren't they doing more measurement themselves? That's exactly what Liberty Global board member Andrew Cole wants to do via a new company he's created. He is very critical of existing JIC/measurement systems based on panels - in our latest The Media Leader UK podcast I've tried to get to the bottom of why advertisers and #media buyers would want to deviate from a trusted system like Barb which has been in place for over 40 years. Cole was also an original backer of GB News and you better believe I had questions for him about that too. I would just add that while I am not at liberty to discuss beyond this note, certain of the Telcos have new tech coming for other reasons that have massive ad market application (notably around ad impact). DAD will leverage this tech to further separate itself from other ad tech platforms.
