PANDAS-V® in action: Faulty Cross Contact Bars Early detection of OHL faults dramatically reduces the likelihood of catastrophic failure such as dewirements. This video illustrates PANDAS-V® core functionality, OHL impact detection, which showcases a faulty cross contact bar. Any passing train has an increased likelihood of catching onto this fault. Fortunately, an impact was detected and video evidence was sent to key stakeholders within 1 minute of the impact. This allowed OHL infrastructure maintainers to rapidly analyse the situation, make decisions and efficiently deploy resources. In this case, a speed restriction was put in place and monitored until a full repair was made, preventing any further escalation of OHL damage. 🚗 MODI Project Milestone: Assessing Readiness for Level 4 Automation Do you remember MODI? The project that will facilitate automated heavy transport without safety drivers across Europe? The recent completion of the inaugural trip along the Rotterdam-Oslo corridor made a significant step in evaluating its readiness for Level 4 automation, by assessing GNSS disturbances, mobile network quality and service continuity, lane marking quality and consistency, and other parameters needed for automated driving in 5 countries. The 3400 km drive resulted in more than 500 Gbytes of raw data that is being processed and analyzed by SINTEF and Q-Free. In this endeavor, Q-Free, along with Ola Martin Lykkja, Pascal Hernandez and Michał Kaźmierowski, has played a crucial role, collaborating with various partners to collect and analyze data. The journey has provided invaluable insights into the diverse challenges faced, including road conditions, border crossings, and mobile network connectivity issues.
