🐋 Team Focus at VHV: Inspired by Killer Whales Last month, during our quarterly State of the Company address, we reflected on where we've been, where we are, and where we're going. These meetings bring all of our employee-owners together to align on our shared mission and values—including how we conduct ourselves as a team. To emphasize the power of teamwork, I shared an analogy about killer whales. These incredible creatures use highly intelligent pack hunting strategies to work together, divide labor, and communicate effectively to achieve their goal: the crab eater seal. Similarly, at VHV, our team focus enables us to achieve our own ambitious goals—like growing ESOP shares, fostering a great culture, increasing profit sharing, providing wage increases, and supporting career advancement. The following week, I found a toy crab-eater seal placed on my desk by one of our team members. It was a fun and unexpected reminder to keep our eyes on the prize! Just like the killer whales, we recognize that our collective strength and expertise far exceed the sum of our individual capabilities.
