I co-authored a piece with Fatima Zahra Ahasan Raisa apu discussing the legitimacy of the interim government under the lens of constitutional law doctrines on Verfassungsblog. It is a constitutional law blog focusing on Germany, Europe and beyond. The pieces written by many academicians and legal professionals in the concerned topic indeed gave us clarity (expressing my heartfelt gratitude). I was happy to contribute a chapter to this brilliant edited collection on the aesthetics of international criminal law. I focus on three emblematic legal concepts of international criminal justice: (i) the existence of ‘armed conflict’, (ii) the recruitment and use of ‘child soldiers’, and (iii) ‘attacks’ on civilian populations. I bring these concepts into conversation with contemporary representations of global narco-entertainment distributed on Netflix: El Chapo (2017),7 Narcos: (Mexico) (2018), and Somos (2021). The conclusion is that narco-entertainment offers a nuanced interpretation of the nature of Mexican violence. It occupies a liminal space sitting neither inside nor outside the aesthetic realm of international criminal justice; not war, but not peace, and producing national, transnational, and international crimes, as well as global entertainment. https://lnkd.in/dGp3CQC6

This week, we hosted an expert in competition and state aid law Aleksandra Mitic of Law firm Kavčič, Bračun & Partners (KBP) within the Master's course Economic Analysis of the Functioning of the Market and Undertakings in the EU who analyzed EU state aid rules and their application in practice.
