Let's talk about women in sports. Tell me a very honest on the ground situation. What is really happening if you go into Tier 2, Tier 3 cities, I don't think there is that much of encouragement to young girls to pursue the sport. They either bullied or they're harassed. There was one athlete, she had very lovely long hair and the next time I met her, she had cut her hair and she was wearing a cap and he had her jacket till here. And I was like what happened to your lovely hair? You loved it. And she's like name I'm Jeb May garsee training jati kitni boys SAB mujhe. So I'll be my essay. It really hurt me and pained me that someone is because they want to play sport, the challenges that they are actually going through or they're not allowed to wear shorts. There's a lot happening on ground.
Staring and unsolicited comments make fitness intimidating for many women in India. Gyms lack female coaches, and those who are present often train women the “male” way, ignoring their unique needs and preferences.
Finding appropriate clothing is another major challenge. Covering up becomes a constant concern, and the high cost of supportive activewear increases the entry barrier for women wanting to pursue fitness seriously.
Fitness for women in India isn’t just about performance—it’s about creating safe, inclusive spaces and affordable options that empower them to participate confidently and freely.
Women and girls still face too many barriers to participating in sport, resulting in a persistent gender gap in participation.
The Health Barriers to Girls and Women in Sport report, published by the Women and Equalities Select Committee, states “The particular challenges faced by girls to sports participation arise from a combination of gender stereotypes that promote the very outdated notion that sport is a predominately male sphere. In addition, there are health and wellbeing issues experienced only, or predominately, by girls."

Perhaps that on our LinkedIn site, people choose not to engage in such a political exchange because of the professional fallout from prospective employers, their current employment, peers who have differing views, to others. who may not like this site to be used as a forum for such topics.
Like our upcoming elections, there are contrasting, yet two major tributaries if thought.
Yes, I am saddened and disappointed at the lack of response to the Title IX issue. In America, many of the earlier champions of Title IX to level the playing field with male and female athletes are eerily mute.
It is a scientifically and physical fact that the female anatomy differs from her male counterpart. This creates a different playing field for young female teens with those who now has to compete with biological males who profess to be females to feel good about themselves, for accolades and scholarships.
Reality Check-
You have to side with the biological FACT over one's feelings. Does that make me a hater? Absolutely not. Maybe I'm pro-female, pro-science, and for truth, even if it may offend or cause one to become triggered. Welcome to the real world - I care about our young girls and women to share the truth. In life, regardless of what some educators have lied to you. there are some absolutes.

I’m surprised that more women on LinkedIn haven’t spoken up about how the current administration is impacting Title IX and women’s sports. Tonight, Catlin Clark and the top WNBA draft picks kick off their season. Why allow biological males to compete in women's sports? Sports should remain apolitical! #vote2024#savewomenssports

Because we women don’t like being used as a shield for peoples’ transphobia
I’m not gonna pretend to speak for all women – some women may really not like trans women being in women’s sports, but many also are supportive of them. Many are indifferent.
Not to mention, something that a lot of people seem to just completely ignore is that women themselves vary. For example, I am stronger than most women and less flexible as well. Which is more similar to the physical attributes of a man.
Am I not allowed to compete either?
Oh wait no I still can because I don’t have a p***?
So genitalia is what decides? When did sports become about showing the most “typical” example of someone with a v***** or a p****?
I am so sick of this crap. We have so many better issues to worry about.
You really don’t like trans people in sports? Whether people like it or not, you are allowed to go create your own little league over there and decide who gets in and who doesn’t.
Meanwhile, us adults will focus on real issues like lack of affordable housing or healthcare.

Did you know that New Jersey-based women’s soccer team NJ/NY Gotham FC became Champions of the National Women’s Soccer League for the second time last year? No?
Well, that’s probably because women’s sport is in desperate need of a bigger and better platform to showcase successes.
Audiences for women competing in sport have been steadily rising, with new records set year-on-year for both event attendance and TV viewers. Finally, the world is beginning to take note of the importance of women in sport.
Gotham FC is a team to watch, with big ambitions to be the global capital of women’s soccer. Former Tottenham manager Juan Carlos Amorós is at the helm, winning coach of the year in 2023, and we can see big things in their future.
Gotham FC has engaged our team to support brand growth through a scientific, data-driven approach aimed at expanding audience reach, and we’re so excited to be a part of this movement.

As a law student and a sportsperson, I’m raising my voice for a sport that doesn’t get as much attention as cricket in India—basketball. My concern is the height bias that limits opportunities for talented players.
From a legal perspective, this raises questions about the Right to Equality and Right to Equal Opportunity. If there is no proper scope for shorter players in the sport, then height eligibility should be set from the very beginning, rather than giving false hope to young athletes who invest their time and energy, only to be overlooked later.
Height-based eligibility in sports quotas further restricts the chances of skilled players who don’t meet the height requirements. Isn’t this a violation of their basic rights to fair and equal opportunity in sports? It's time to address these biases and ensure every player gets a fair platform to succeed.
