Every day, we rely on the generosity of our community of over 1,550 volunteers who dedicate thousands of hours to our most vulnerable neighbors. Walking in the cold and briefly experiencing life through the lens of homelessness can be a powerful way to foster empathy and gain a deeper understanding of the challenges faced by the homeless population Coldest Night of the Year did spectacular events that give us a glimpse of how streets look like in wintertime; it's the awareness that gives opportunity to fill the shoes who's in need that made us contribute to the the change that we need in our world. I'm aware of everything in the community because I've been everywhere and also being a volunteer and social worker allows me to make a positive impact in my community contribute to the well-being of others and meet them where they are—it is a fulfilling journey where compassion meets action, fostering positive change and connecting communities. I believe that volunteering requires genuine dedication and passion, not just for resume enhancement or for self-gain but to make a meaningful impact. Why is Set To Thrive important to our vulnerable children? Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs is a psychological theory that categorizes human needs into a five-tier pyramid. At the base are the physiological needs, including essentials like food, water, clothes, and shelter. Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs shows the critical need of Set To Thrive in our community. Set To Thrive’s mission is to provide children experiencing foster care and homelessness with new essential items (clothing, shoes, hygiene products, and more) to bring comfort and confidence during a vulnerable time. We are proud to be able to partner with other organizations in our community that work to meet all the needs of our youth and get them to a place where they can be comfortable, confident, and thrive. Thank you Bombas, Project Glimmer, One Warm Coat, Bloc Bags for partnering with Set To Thrive. We are always looking for corporate partners to help us make an even bigger impact. Let’s make an impact together for our local children experiencing foster care and homelessness. #communityengagement #fostercareawareness #homelessnessawareness #contracosta #alamedacounty #trivalley

🧩 Solving the Puzzle of Situational Homelessness Together At Entryway Central Florida, we believe that community collaboration and innovative solutions are key to solving situational homelessness. Each piece of the puzzle—career training, employment opportunities, stable housing, and supportive partnerships—is crucial in helping individuals and families find their way to self-sufficiency. Here’s how we can all contribute to solving this complex issue: 🔑 Career Training: Equip individuals with the skills to secure and maintain stable employment. 🏡 Housing Solutions: Provide safe and affordable housing options that offer a foundation for rebuilding lives. 🤝 Community Support: Partner with local businesses, nonprofits, and volunteers to create a robust support network. 📚 Education & Resources: Offer access to educational resources and support services that empower individuals to overcome barriers. 🌟 Advocacy & Awareness: Raise awareness about situational homelessness and advocate for policies that promote economic stability and social inclusion. #metropolitanministries completely wowed me in their volunteer orientation. I can’t wait to work with them. Did you know… they not only help those without food but those without a home? They: - serve 75k meals a month in Tampa, over 4 million meals last year!! - help families and single women with housing on campus (almost 100K last year)!! - conduct a free culinary program to all of Tampa for immediate employment. - have a k-5 school on campus, with trauma-trained teachers—the first organization in the U.S. to offer. They’ve been open since 1972. 95% of their attendees don’t return to homelessness. Incredible. It’s amazing the things we hear versus what we actually learn when we venture for ourselves. For the longest time I similarly thought Habitat for Humanity simply gave free homes to those in need. If you can #volunteer, I would highly encourage you to do so. Just a few hours a week goes a long way. There are organizations around you making a huge impact in your community. #metromin #foodinsecure #fighthunger #fighthomelessness #faithbased

Seeking position with company that values my experience in Assisted Living Sales/Marketing, Care Management, Human Resources, Business Management, Volunteering. Willing to relocate!
Homelessness is a pressing issue in America that requires attention and action from all levels of government. From cities to State to the next President, it's crucial that we address the needs of our homeless population. Living in Tucson has given me insight into the challenges faced by homeless individuals, especially as some states transport homeless individuals to warmer regions. While housing initiatives for migrants are important, we must also prioritize solutions for our own homeless population. Healthcare is another critical aspect that needs to be addressed. Many US citizens lack access to affordable healthcare, including essential mental health services. It's time to ensure healthcare for all Americans. Check out the link below for more information on community efforts to address homelessness and related challenges. (Issues near and dear to my heart, in case you wonder.) #Homelessness #USGovernment #HealthcareForAll
