Planning travel makes me happy I didn’t know that this is a scientifically proven fact In 2010, researchers from the Netherlands found that the biggest boost in happiness around vacations came from the simple act of planning one. If you need a push to plan that next trip, consider that you will be happier because of it! Not everyone in Europe has the same luxury of taking a summer vacation. 60% of Romanians and 44% of Bulgarians have skipped the summer holidays in 2023. This highlights the stark holiday inequality present across different EU countries, where leisure opportunities are not equally accessible to all citizens. According to Eurostat, average tourism spending per person varies significantly across European countries. In 2022, Luxembourg had the highest tourism spending per night at €175, followed by Austria at €154, while the EU average was €87.
In which EU countries are people financially unable to take holidays?
