Level- 2 Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapist | Polyvagal theory informed| Somatic Practitioner| RECBT Trained (Albert Ellis Institute, USA)
A different perspective to explore! ( "Which I learned from Internal Family Systems family therapy" ) : What if instead of hating critical voices in your head or trying to push them away, you see them as a part of you criticizing you for a reason? Perhaps to protect you from something which has been there deep inside you . A deeper pain or a deeper wound. What if instead of judging or reacting to your critical thoughts, you get curious and try to understand where they are stemming from? Can curiosity lead to the greatest discoveries or healing? I'm curious to hear your thoughts on this, please share below.

How do you know when and if it's time to see a therapist as a couple when navigating a serious illness? I had the pleasure of interviewing Family Counseling Expert Dr. Alise Bartley, AAMFT Clinical Supervisor, AAMFT Clinical Fellow. Here's what she had to say about this topic: "This depends on the couple. When there is a lot of trust and intimacy in the relationship, it's an easier ask if one person wants to speak to a therapist, because it isn't perceived as a threat to that intimacy. Therapy offers a number of great benefits, including opening a safe, judgement-free space in which to explore all your feelings or to have a conversation that might be difficult to start..."
