"Winter can be a beautiful time of year, but it brings the colder weather which can wreak havoc on powder coatings that aren’t suitable for the environment. Thermaprime is a range of primers designed to be anti-corrosive, making them ideal for applications with high exposure to harsh environments. Primers in this range include our PBP 110 Epoxy Barrier Primer, PPC 120 Anti-Corrosive Primer, PZP 130 Zinc Primer and AGP 135 Anti-Gassing Primer. Each of these primers provide excellent adhestion for top coat application, which is also crucial for protecting your products. Modine Coatings - Insitu Es2 Proper viscosity ensures that the spray gun operates efficiently. If the coating is too viscous, it may clog the spray gun or require excessive pressure, leading to equipment wear or an uneven spray pattern. With the right viscosity, you can achieve a smooth, consistent spray pattern and avoid common application issues.

After my recent repost about the FRP system for applying polyester resins and gelcoats, I've asked about the functioning and benefits of External Mix technology. Fortunately, there's a video that perfectly demonstrates this. As you can see, the components of material are supplied into RS gun through separate lines (1) and (2). Then, compressed air (3) mixes with the catalyst (line 2), and after, the air and catalyst mixture (4) is injected from both sides into the base component spray fan (line 1). What makes the External Mix technology so good? Since the mixing occurs outside the sprayer, the mixed material cannot cure inside the equipment, even due to an operator error. This means you can avoid long and costly repairs, and the equipment does not require an additional solvent line for flushing. In the second part of the video, you can see functioning of the Air-Assist Containment (AAC) technology at work. The containment air forms a shield around the spray fan, preventing material droplets from flying around and significantly reducing room contamination. #ManufacturingOperations #ManufacturingIndustry #IndustrialEquipment #gelcoat #polyester #fiberglass #boatmanufacturing

TP41 Epoxy Hardener (Heavy anti-corrosion powder) Description Epoxy Hardener TP41 is a phenolic curing agent for use with epoxy and epoxy novolac-based powder coatings. Coatings made with TP41 exhibit the excellent chemical resistance, substrate wetting and mechanical properties for which phenolic-cured epoxy coatings are noted. It offers formulators the versatility of using differing cure cycles while maintaining performance properties. For example, powder coatings made with TP41 can be “snap” cured in 2 minutes at 200°C or low-temperature cured in 20 minutes at 120°C while maintaining both mechanical (160 reverse inch pounds impact) and chemical resistance (100+ MEK double rubs) properties. In addition, powder coatings made with TP41 have good package stability and exhibit very low yellowing.
