We would like to dedicate this article to the memory of Carlos Majano López, the first author of the study, who passed away in July 2024. Carlos, as part of his doctoral thesis on thermography, made significant contributions to the field of thermography applied to sports. We deeply appreciate his work and the close relationship he always offered us.
Rest in peace.
This study highlights key points:
⚠️ A 10-minute acclimatization is essential for the accurate evaluation of the hamstrings, as it helps reduce thermal asymmetries that could be influenced by external factors, such as sedentary posture. Therefore, a controlled acclimatization period is recommended before conducting a thermographic evaluation of this muscle region.
✅ For other body regions, no significant differences in thermal asymmetries were observed after acclimatization. This suggests that, in these areas, acclimatization may not be a necessary requirement, allowing time to be saved in preparing the players without compromising the reliability of the results.
