Interesting
love this Andy Haldane!!
Recently returned to the London/SE area. Open to opportunities.
2moI've felt for a long time that young adults whether leaving home for university, starting full-time work (where available) or training for a vocational qualification/apprenticeship, caring for others or trying to get various skills/hustles into focus, branded as personally authentic & monetised, they deserve & need greater recognition & respect from the society around them. All these different possibilities are themselves achievements, successes to be celebrated. After over 12yrs of 'training'. Perhaps the various strata (of ever reducing span) of 'generations' are easily conditioned to punch down on those following after them. Which would seem to only serve those just a generation or two above them; in keeping both their hands clean & comfortable positions secure. You don't need to 'hug a hoodie' or whatever feigned interest is going to be disguised as for the convenience of quick reflective glory & 'moving on'. To an agenda which most often leaves the young high & dry. Perhaps it takes a village to raise up an adult, at least to eye level or a seat at the same table.
