Good Works Grant Writing is excited to congratulate our #GoodWorksClient, The State of Black Arizona, for being selected to receive a $25,000 #CorporateGrant from APS Corporate Giving! This generous #grant will support the State of Black Arizona’s 2024 African American Leadership Institute (AALI) and State of Black Housing Report. During 2024, the AALI will offer 20 Black professionals targeted masterclasses and a retreat, honing their leadership skills with culturally specific insights. The AALI fosters growth, networking, and strategies to enhance Black representation and racial equity in influential roles throughout the state. In collaboration with the Center for the Future of Arizona, the State of Black Arizona is analyzing housing data for the State of Black Housing Report to be released in 2024, focusing on the Black community's homeownership discrepancies in Arizona. I am delighted that #philanthropists Ronda Stryker and her husband, William Johnston, have made a historic donation of $100 million to #HBCU Spelman College. Made in January of this year, his remarkable contribution includes $75 million to endow scholarships and $25 million to improve student housing, develop an academic focus on public policy and more. This contribution marks the largest single donation in the college's history. Donations like these are crucial for HBCUs, which have long been underfunded compared to other educational institutions. The impact of this gift extends far beyond the pure dollar amount – it sends a powerful message of support and recognition for the invaluable role that HBCUs play in shaping the leaders of tomorrow.
