My Current Position On The Sales & Marketing Manager Role I've been thinking a lot about the combined role of sales and marketing manager, and I've come to the conclusion that it's not really effective. Sales and marketing have evolved so much that it's hard for one person to handle both roles effectively. A strong sales manager focuses on driving sales and building relationships, while an effective marketing manager creates content, analyses data and collaborates with sales. Combining both roles can lead to expertise gaps and missed opportunities in both sales and marketing. I believe that companies should take a collaborative approach. For example, they could prioritize collaboration between sales and marketing through sales enablement or consider creating a Chief Revenue Officer position to oversee both sales and marketing. I'm not trying to criticize existing structures; I just believe it's time to reassess and improve our approach to sales and marketing. What are your thoughts on this?
