Telling someone that you appreciate them is a small thing that’s often overlooked. We assume they know, or just forget to voice it but it can make a big difference to someone’s day and improve their wellbeing. Take the time today to express your gratitude to the people in your communities. Mental health awareness is great. Let's make it last more than a week. 🩺 When listening Regularly practice: 👉 Perspective taking 👉 Being non-judgmental 👉 Reflecting on emotions (goes both ways) 👉 Being there in the moment of suffering When you connect to empathize, it brings out your painful feelings. It is hard to revisit those so we tend to opt out. Don't back off. Don't flinch. Open up. Listen empathetically, proceed with kindness and flexibility. 😢 When sharing You, me, us. We are all wired to avoid unpleasant things. The trouble is, we approach internal experiences in the same way. Remaining in contact with difficult stuff and proceeding mindfully, it's a life's work. This is even more amplified if your community promots the same message - get rid of it. That is why awareness matters. Next time someone shares something painful try to: 💡Be more present and mindful 💡Reflect on experiences in a flexible & accepting way 💡Ask them how can you be of help We are on this journey together.
