Hilde de Vocht, HTCE Head of Ecosystem, talked to Rogier van Son and Ferenc Triki at Omroep Brabant about how High Tech Campus has changed in the past 25 years, the explosive growth happening right now and what the future looks like. The Campus started out as NatLab, a closed R&D center where many Philips products were developed and launched. Philips opened the campus to outside companies, funding the project with €400M. This allowed for the construction of buildings, parking garages and The Strip - High Tech Campus Eindhoven | Eurest with restaurants and shops. “To this day, it has proven to be a very successful concept,” said Hilde. 🙌 Fast forward 25 years, and the Campus has nearly 300 companies and 12,500 employees. "We create the future. Today we think about what might be in your body, in your home, in your office and in your environment in the coming years. New products are developed and made here.” That’s why HTC is called the “smartest square kilometer in Europe.” 🚀 HTC is also called the Silicon Valley of Europe. Hilde adds, "We are on par with San Francisco, but with our own course. It is much more competitive there, but we do it our own way. With the Brabant mentality and conviviality."
