As the demand for ABA therapy in schools continues to grow, its potential impact on education for children with autism is undeniable. 🌿ABA therapy is more than just a treatment — it’s a pathway to inclusion, skill development, and academic success. Schools are increasingly recognizing its power to support students in both the classroom and social settings. 🌿 By integrating ABA techniques, educators can provide personalized support to students, fostering independence and boosting confidence. With the right resources and training, ABA can help create a more inclusive and effective learning environment for all children. Teaching independence skills as early as possible is crucial for the overall development and well-being of children with autism. By fostering these skills from a young age, we can set them up for a lifetime of success and self-sufficiency. 🌟✨ Here's why early independence skills are so important and the benefits they provide: Boosting self-confidence 😊💖 Learning independence skills gives children with autism a sense of pride, positively impacting all areas of their lives. Promoting problem-solving 🧩💡 Encouraging early independence helps develop critical thinking and resilience to navigate life's challenges. Enhancing daily living 🍳👕 Teaching skills like dressing and grooming promotes autonomy and makes daily life easier. Fostering communication 👥💬 As children learn self-sufficiency, they effectively communicate needs and boundaries, leading to better social interactions. At Spectrum Achievers ABA, our personalized therapy programs prioritize the development of early independence skills. Through a combination of evidence-based strategies, positive reinforcement, and family involvement, we help children with autism unlock their full potential and achieve greater autonomy. If you'd like to learn more about how we can support your child's journey towards independence, contact us today! #SpectrumAchieversABA #ABATherapy #AutismAwareness #EarlyIndependenceSkills #FosteringAutonomy #UnlockingPotential

This is just as true for autistic adults in the workplace. We experience genuine pain from may of the experiences we have to endure (loud lights, anyone?) and have to push through that every single day. If someone has the flu, you don't usually expect them to be as productive because their body is just not able to keep with their baseline. Autistic people are expected to keep up with everyone else's "baseline" while in the same volume of distress almost every day. According to the UN, only 16% of autistic adults are employed. I would like you to sit with that number for a while. Out of a hundred autistic adults, only sixteen of us are employed. We live in a world that is hostile to autistic people. It's incredibly overstimulating, has so many strange rules that are antithetical to how our minds work, and we are expected to always have "normal_human.exe" running, which takes up a good chunk of our processing capacity. This is, as you can imagine, infuriating. Autistic people have the ability to contribute a lot to the world. We have many useful, necessary skills to share. Yet we are so frequently left behind by society and discarded and told we aren't useful. And because we aren't "useful," we aren't worth keeping around.

We are implementing Autism Education Trust training in schools across Kent to improve support for autistic children and young people. Over 400 education settings have accessed the training since September 2023. “The training was so useful, giving a more modern overview on autism. Unlike the older training which covered more about the brain and how an autistic brain functions, this training was more focused on the children and supplied us with the tools to aid children who have autism effectively.” Find out more about Autism Education Trust training in Kent ➡️ https://loom.ly/PrWaugo #Autism #AutismEducation #GoodAutismPractice #DifferenceNotDeficit #AET
