Believing you can do anything is the key to staying motivated on achieving your goals. We see the attitudes of our kids in our programs change week by week. They go from believing “I can’t play the game” to “I can do this”. Over the summer, we even had some of our kids teach our interns how to hold a golf club and swing. We want to create golf enthusiasts who will play and love the game, and teach others how to play too. Great to see the roll out of #ActiveStart in North Yorkshire. We've worked closely with Active Cumbria who developed the programme, to train our very own trainers (see Liz Burkinshaw below!) and are now well underway in delivering, thanks to specific health inequalities funding . 🤩 50 people have been through the training 🤩 Nearly 40 settings have an Active Start resource 🤩 100% of learners say their knowledge and awareness of how much activity is needed in the early years has increased 🤩 100% of learners say their understanding of how to include more activity and active play into their day has increased 🤩 100% of learners say their confidence, inspiration and motivation has increased. The training has involved so much discussion which is great! Learners have come away with more ideas for their setting and have been able to talk through some of the challenges they face; for which we are working on some follow up webinars/support. Can you really grow without asking yourself if there's anything *you* can do better? One of the most highly rated youth volleyball coaches to come into our program, Jen Schutte, does this regularly. This time it's with the help of distinguished coach and educator BJ LeRoy. Together, these two helped our coaches understand how we can be more efficient during our practice time, so that we can be better for our youth, giving them quality time and the best chance at success. These little smiles were there as part of the learning process for our coaches. How much less daunting mistakes must be for them as players when they see such good examples of great coaches embracing opportunities for improvement.

Teaching kids #golf lessons provides an exceptional way to instill the value of #responsibility at an early age. As they step onto the green, young golfers learn to take ownership of their actions, decisions, and outcomes.
