The beating heart of employer brand is simple. Don't tell people you're "great." Show them how you are different. Why? Knowing your difference is knowing who you appeal to most and why they want to work THERE (instead of kinda sorta anywhere). Knowing your difference is knowing the things you offer that are not just “kinda like a million other companies” but rather are something they are looking for and can’t get other places. Knowing your difference defines where you win, and win in a way that makes recruiting and hiring feel more effortless. Define your difference!

"What’s my brand?" "What’s my brand?" If I had the proverbial nickel every time I heard this question… So here is my 21st century, I’m just an Executive Recruiter, idea to enhance your brand. Go to the office… Yep! GO to the office and interact with others on your team. Or visit some customers IN PERSON. SHOW UP every day, in person, ready to go. AND wear a suit. Don’t wear a cheap suit, though. Go for quality! That's important. Gentlemen: If you really want to enhance your brand, wear a tie too… The best way to differentiate yourself is by elevating your presence. Be bold Be different Most importantly, DO A GREAT JOB Do all of that and your brand will become “the well dressed executive we can count on.” Which is a brand you will always be proud of.

One day, a Business Leader said to me: '𝘐 𝘥𝘰𝘯’𝘵 𝘶𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘸𝘩𝘺 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘴𝘱𝘦𝘯𝘥 𝘴𝘰 𝘮𝘶𝘤𝘩 𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘦 𝘱𝘰𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘰𝘯 𝘓𝘪𝘯𝘬𝘦𝘥𝘐𝘯.' At the time, it really struck me, and I asked myself: why do I do it? Is it for recognition? The need to be seen? I even stopped posting for a while. In fact, I think it’s mostly because it’s a way to show that I’m part of something bigger. A collective. It’s a way to express pride in what we accomplish, to communicate about what we do, and most importantly, to inspire. Inspire others to take action. Not necessarily to do what I/we are doing, but simply 𝘁𝗼 𝗱𝗼. To do the things they love, that excite them, and motivate them every day. I’m convinced that empowering employees in our Company 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗱𝗼, 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆’𝗿𝗲 𝗽𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁, 𝗶𝘀 𝗮 𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝘄𝗮𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗘𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗼𝘆𝗲𝗿 𝗕𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗱 (𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘭𝘦𝘵’𝘴 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘨𝘦𝘵: 𝘧𝘳𝘦𝘦 -> 𝘺𝘦𝘴 𝘊𝘍𝘖𝘴 🤐 𝘐 𝘬𝘯𝘰𝘸 𝘺𝘰𝘶’𝘳𝘦 𝘬𝘦𝘦𝘱𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘯 𝘦𝘺𝘦 𝘰𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘱𝘦𝘯𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘌𝘮𝘱𝘭𝘰𝘺𝘦𝘳 𝘉𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘪𝘯𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦𝘴!). Because, ask yourself: when a candidate is considering applying, are they more likely to 🅣🅡🅤🅢🅣 your beautiful Employer Branding campaigns made with an agency, or the posts and testimonials that 🅨🅞🅤🅡 Employees share voluntarily? The strongest personal brands aren't the people with the best listicles. They're the people with great: - Stories - Opinions - Uniqueness - Experiences - Personalities Focus less on the information. Focus more on showing that you're a person who's worth listening to.

You could spend a fortune on sparkly white veneers - but if your breath stinks, it’s all for nothing. The same thought process applies to employer brands. Your visual brand might be really sexy and polished. Maybe your content’s a bit of alright, and all. But if a prospective employee encounters you for real and suspects there’s something whiffy going on - your dazzling facade won’t stand a chance. Attracting top talent is one thing - but if you want that talent to become part of your team, you’ll need to prove you can talk the talk… Without putting them off. (We can help with that, btw.)

📢 Building a Reputation and Brand: Consistency and Honesty is Key Something I have been pushing hard since joining Forge Talent 6 months ago. I believe some of the points will help. My brand is built on what people say about me when I'm not in the room. In recruitment (and beyond) some of the areas I believe are key: ➡️ Consistency: Show up, deliver, and be reliable in every interaction. Over time, this becomes the foundation of your brand. ➡️ Value: Share insights, advice, and expertise that genuinely help others. Whether it's candidates, clients, or colleagues, leave them better than you found them. ➡️ Authenticity: Be yourself. People connect with authenticity, and it builds trust faster than anything else. ➡️ Visibility: You can’t build a brand in the dark. Post regularly, share successes, and don’t be afraid to tell your story. ➡️ Honesty: Add value, give honest feedback and have honest conversations. Reputation isn’t built overnight. It’s earned through consistent effort, honest conversations, and a genuine focus on adding value.
