Cook County is tackling a major public health concern with Lead Care Cook County, a program providing free lead service line replacement for childcare providers in suburban areas. Beyond replacing lines, the program restores properties to their original condition and conducts follow-up water testing to ensure lead levels are reduced to non-detectable levels. Caroline Pakenham of Elevate highlights the program’s commitment to safeguarding children and ensuring their environments are safe and lead-free. If you were invited to complete the third of eight RAPID-CT surveys for Connecticut families with children under the age of 6, please respond before it closes at the end of today, 10/25. Each one is on a different topic and this one focuses on financial well-being. Emails were sent to those who completed previous RAPID surveys, flyers were sent to local childcare providers and the FRC, an announcement was in the recent ECCS and SPL newsletters, and we handed out lots of flyers at last weekend's Halloween events. (Sorry, we can't post the link online or QR code to cut down on spammers.)

On the May 13th #DayWithoutChildCare, Childcare providers, parents, and supporters are walking out of our places of work to illustrate how our economy relies on child care. We are calling on our elected leaders to act quickly to solve America’s child care crisis. At the federal level, the Democrats’ reconciliation package offers us a once in a generation opportunity to acknowledge the incredible value that caregiving and caregivers add to our economy and to help families struggling with their rising child care costs. Please use this toolkit to support parents, child care providers, and Child care Change makers nationwide as they demand living wages and affordable child care. #DayWithoutChildCare Share this website with our elected leaders to call on them to stand with parents & providers on May 13 For more information on the May 13th Day Without Childcare, please see daywithoutchildcare.org **If you have any questions, please contact Jaya Chatterjee (jchatterjee@communitychange.org) and Meredith Loomis Quinlan (mquinlan@communitychange.org) at Community Change.

Yes Indeed, your voice is crucial in this movement .
🗣️ We’re elevating the voices of those leading the charge for impactful change. In our Because You Said So video series, we showcase how their perspectives are influencing and guiding our work. 📹 Check out our ninth video, where Djena J., Director of Shared Services MA, highlights how we're empowering family childcare educators to grow as business owners by providing tools, training, and resources to deliver high-quality education and achieve financial success. So far, we've supported over 67 new licensed educators in Boston and Earmark areas (Lowell, Lawrence, Lynn, and Haverhill) and opening 418 spaces for children to access high-quality, culturally respectful, and affordable childcare. Keep saying so!!!
