Various rulers, cultures and civilizations have written the history of the Crikvenica region. Each segment of this rich tangible and intangible heritage left a small mark in development and helped create today's offer. Visible traces remain written in the remains of settlements, burial mounds and defensive mounds, weapons, jewelry, construction ceramics and specific amphorae. The invisible ones are immortalized in barbaric curses, prayers of Paulines, laughter and songs of fishermen... The history of Crikvenica, Dramlje, Jadranovo and Selce is connected with the development of the neighboring medieval towns of Drivenik, Grižan, Bribir and Triblj and the fertile Vinodol valley. In the Middle Ages, it was common for each of the cities to have its port, next to which fishing settlements sprang up. Excellent fishermen and masons were born here, who greatly influenced life, but also the appearance of cities. The sea and the opportunities it offers directed the Crikvenica Riviera in a different direction. The direction of social well-being and development brought by tourism, one of the most important economic branches that began to develop in this area at the end of the 19th century.

Mishra, S. K. Sabuj Dwiper Raja: A Fight for the Rights of Jarawa Identity and Culture. Abstract: The present paper is an attempt to study Sunil Gangopadhyay’s prose narrative Sabuj Dwiper Raja (The King of the Green Island) which may be treated as a short fiction to fight against the violation of human rights of the Jarawa tribe. The Jarawa land is as though an independent nation within a nation. The ancient tribal people of Andaman Nicobar Islands have to strive hard to protect their habitat, identity, and culture from the clutches of the outside people who even consider them no better than barbaric animals. The article highlights the fact that the Jarawa people are human, not cruel animals and they have also the human right to protect their identity and culture. Their land is haunted by the so-called civilized world for its greed for natural resources. Even though the colonial rule is over, the sufferings continue. They are brutally murdered and deprived of the wealth of nature that has survived them since ancient times. 100 Years of Harappan Discovery — And We Still Can't Read Their Script ⚠️ It’s been a century since Sir John Marshall announced the groundbreaking discovery of the Harappan civilization, one of the most advanced ancient cultures ever found. Harappa and Mohenjo-Daro were thriving cities with complex systems of governance, trade, and even sanitation—thousands of years ahead of their time. But there’s a worrying fact: we still haven’t deciphered their script. In 100 years, despite the work of brilliant archaeologists like R.D. Banerji, Daya Ram Sahni, and Mortimer Wheeler, we remain in the dark about a key aspect of this civilization. The inability to understand their language means we have only scratched the surface of who the Harappans truly were. What knowledge, warnings, or wisdom could they have left behind that we simply can’t access? As time passes, the concern increases that we may never fully understand this mysterious culture. With every year, the Harappan script continues to defy us. What if we’re losing crucial insights into our shared human history?
