Join Me On My 365-Day Peaceful Photo Challenge — Day 15 Curating peace through photos, with and without words I spent much time in the air yesterday, mainly sleeping, in preparation for the work week that begins today. Yet, the experience reminded me of this photo I captured last month (August 2024) over North Carolina and how it speaks peace on many levels. Life, like time, is constant change and interdependence. We see the tangibles so quickly, but what about our shadows, which remind us of the intangible and fleeting nature of existence? Our physical presence and impacts also leave shadows and effects that we must be aware of and direct. We all take flight as we change and direct the courses of our lives, transcending limitations and boundaries. Yet, as we exercise our freedoms, our shadows tether us. We must be mindful of these tetherings to our realities and make meaning from them. No matter what we do, what flights we take, and how much freedom we carve for ourselves, we are all still interconnected. Here, agriculture, technology, landscape design, electricity, transportation routes, the environment, and the people directing movement and the eath’s shaping are all one, whether we see them physically or not, whether we observe work in and change in action or not, or recognize the shadows of man’s creativity, ingenuity, and labor. May we connect, interact, and exist with awareness, love, and peace. What photos have you captured that speak these messages to you?
