Had this pop up on my feed again and again I always find 5-axis movements on a laser quite intriguing. Tungaloy Cermet: Did you know 3% of turning inserts in North America are cermet. However, in Japan 20% of turning inserts are cermet. The Japanese manufacturers cut the same materials, on the same machines. So, why the big difference? Many North American machine shops have tried cermet and had poor results, complaining of fragile inserts that tend to chip or break. Tungaloy Cermets are different than most western manufactured cermets. In fact, Tungaloy cermets have the same transverse rupture strength (resistance to chipping) than some of our carbide grades. In short, Tungaloy cermets run faster, last longer, produce a better finish and require less offsets. If you haven’t tried Tungaloy cermets, do yourself a favor and call your Tungaloy rep to try one out.

The negatives of having a niche product range is everybody's not a potential customer. The benefit is our staff can reach expert level on all the products we do sell. This M42x2 shaft 2 metres long, two of our competitors had a go at achieving the thread profile and surface finish and failed. Mike Lewis of Vargus UK Ltd managed to use our Vargus threading range to achieve a good outcome for the customer after making some adjustments. Now for the truth bomb that many manufacturers wont admit. The competitors tools would have worked fine if the machining strategy was correct. Agromatic – high quality and precision production of cams      Limit switches and auxiliary position switches are operated by cams. Cam contours are available with a variety of switching angles to meet different application requirements. The cams are designed to ensure the actuator is able to travel in the lobe area, in which the auxiliary position switch is actuated. We produce brass cams from bar stock on our own CNC lathe. It’s a highly precise process in which the machine also drills holes and cuts threads. The grub screws ensure the cam is very reliably secured to the shaft.
