MIT recently showcased Robogrocery, a system that uses computer vision and a soft robotic gripper to autonomously bag a variety of grocery items. This technology marks a significant advancement towards integrating robots into real-world settings, such as for packing groceries, although further improvements are needed for broader commercial and industrial deployment. https://hubs.li/Q02GWMJ50 #TechInnovation #MRX #RoboGrocery

It's a really interesting project just thinking if the same system is implemented for a different use case like waste segregation which humans don't want to work due to the stinky or harmful material exposure I understand the developing market has developing needs but if it is implemented where people can't work in different use cases and by solving that problem this technology can become a ground breaking innovation.
While others worry about our future robot overlords, I'm looking forward to our future robot grocery baggers. https://lnkd.in/eZM-MC-S

We believe everyone is now familiar with #APR😎, which is our flagship product at #TUSKROBOTS: the Autonomous Pallet-handling Robot🤖. It is specifically designed for horizontal #pallet and goods handling in #warehouses, workshops, and #factories🎆, directly moving pallets to provide optimal space utilization. However, many people have raised questions about how the APR will perform when the customer's scenario includes automated warehouses or high-level racks. We believe the following video will provide you with an answer.💯💯 🌟TUSKROBOTS -- APR Creator, bringing unprecedented transformation to the warehousing industry.🌟 📍 More information can view here: 🎥https://lnkd.in/gwj-XTk6 💻https://lnkd.in/dff5AKKT

Robots are transforming warehouse operations! 📦 At Ocado Technology, hundreds of robots rapidly fetch items for online orders with impressive speed and precision. Suction-cup-equipped robotic arms handle everything from rice to crumpets! Asda and Walmart are also using robots to streamline product collection and distribution, aiding staff in packing deliveries. ℹ️ Fascinating facts about warehouse robots: → Ocado's robots deliver items to arms that use suction cups to pick them up. → AI interprets camera data to identify and handle objects smoothly. → Luton warehouse’s 44 robotic arms manage 15% of products, aiming for 70% in 2-3 years. Are fully automated, human-free 24/7 warehouses on the horizon? Feel free to engage in the comments. Thanks to Lukas M. Ziegler Ziegler for sharing. #robotics #automation

Anne Mezzenga and Chris Walton dropped some serious #robotics advice last week on Omni Talk Retail's Fast Five #retail news roundup -- appropriately dubbed "2025 = Year of the Robot:" 🚒 YOUR internal processes are at fault if you haven't gotten value from robots 🔥 Robots' value is HUGELY there for retail 🤩 Make sure your best, most experienced employees are customer facing -- using robots to do repetitive work, so teams spend more time with customers Thanks, Anne and Chris, for mentioning SpartanNash's expansion of Simbe's tech to more than half their owned stores! The publicly traded grocer and distributor's innovation underscores how business-critical technology is once deployed, tested, and proven for years with satisfied customers. ^Those^ are things ONLY Simbe’s store intelligence platform offers. #roboticsinnovation #retailinnovation

NRF 2024: Are Inventory Robots Getting Friendlier? Three vendors whose robots are now hard at work gathering inventory data in hundreds of food retail locations kindly provided progress updates. The conversations included William (BJ) Santiago, CEO of Badger Technologies, Brad Bogolea, CEO & founder of Simbe Robotics, Inc., and David Pinn, CEO of Brain Corp. All were forthcoming about their expanding retail deployments. Read the full article, written by RetailWire BrainTrust member, James Tenser, here: https://lnkd.in/eCKhkEYw Gene Detroyer "There is no question that inventory levels are vital for sales. If robots can do better than humans (I believe they can), then they should." Neil Saunders "As tools for counting inventory levels, ensuring display compliance, and identifying gaps I think robots have their place. But, as I have said many times before, they are not a complete replacement for humans."

Path to the Promised Land of #Automation? When it comes to bin picking of fresh food items at high speed, suction cups (as probably the most commonly used end effector in robotized bin picking) will not take you to the 'promised land' 😯 . Finger grippers are a much better technology for stable grasping at high acceleration of a robot 🤖 . Specifically, #thtRobotics unique gripper can adaptively grip various food items and hold them firmly (without damaging them) while the robot is moving at high speed 😎 . With such a gripper, we can achieve fast bin picking and item packing 🤓 . But also our computer vision system and path planing of robots are pushed to the extreme 🚀 . Take a look at our recent advances in building Noyce, a robotic cell for fast bin picking and online e-groceries automation with #cobots (unlike many robotics videos, this video is NOT sped up 😳 ). (Yes, #ur10 robots can dance fast!) #robotics #ur

🌍 Strategic Sourcing | End-to-End NPI Supply Chain | Maximizing Supplier Capabilities & Streamlining Supply Chain Processes to Solve Unmet Customer Needs |
Retail inventory robots, once mocked as clunky sci-fi contraptions, are undergoing a friendly makeover and earning their place in store aisles. Forget the clunky bots of the past – these sleek, AI-powered towers not only scan shelves with impressive accuracy, but also flag misplaced items, spills, and potential hazards. Companies like Stop & Shop, Walmart, and Sam's Club are already finding success, with robots like "Marty" and "Tally" becoming familiar faces, even sporting googly eyes to ease shopper concerns. But the benefits go beyond mere friendliness: real-time inventory data means fewer stockouts, optimized pricing, and potentially even improved customer service through tasks like price audits and planogram checks. While responsible deployment addressing job displacement and data privacy is crucial, these robots hold the potential to reshape the retail landscape. #SupplyChainInnovation #InventoryRevolution #AutomatedInventoryManagement #EthicalInnovation #TechnologyDisruption

Founder and CEO @ Brightpick | Founder @ Photoneo | AI robots for fully automated order fulfillment🤖
While humanoid #robots are getting all the hype right now, Brightpick Autopicker stands out as a technological marvel in its own right. It may not look like a human, but it's got the eyes (3D scanner + LiDARs), feet (wheels), hands (robotic arm) and brain (software + AI) that define a humanoid. When it comes to order fulfillment, Brightpick Autopicker excels at every task compared to humanoids: - Transportation: wheels outrun feet any day (and use less energy) - Piece picking: currently suction cups beat fingers in versatility and reliability (at a fraction of the cost) - Handling totes: retrieving and slotting totes into shelving or conveyors (while reaching 2x the height of an average human) Humanoids are a huge technological feat and people love watching them because they're relatable (unlike 99% of robots out there). But that doesn't make them the be-all end-all of automation. Many workflows can be automated better at a fraction of the cost and complexity. Humanoids won’t replace specialized robots in the same way they won’t replace dishwashing machines. #technology #future
