Day 1 of Winter Compass 2025 is in the books. A huge thank you to Danny Cahill for delivering our training today with energy and insight. As we say, Compass is about taking a break from working IN our business so we can work ON our business, and this time with Danny has proven very valuable. And of course, we still made time for plenty of recognition and celebration!

We only need ONE reason to start! Last year, I wished to conduct online training for cottage food businesses that produce and sell foods from home. I only wished. I had many reasons not to start working on it. Every time I thought about offering a paid online course, small voices popped up here and there. “What if no one even enquired about the course?” “What if no one signed up?” “What if no one appeared in Zoom class?” And many more voices. Early this year, someone asked if I could teach her how to improve her seasoning mix product. She sounded so enthusiastic, explaining how she started her cottage food production and the problems she was facing. While listening to her, I asked myself. Is that the god-sent signal to start what I have been thinking for some time? What if … The destructive voices still appeared, but I was more confident in responding to them this time. Finally, I found one reason to start my online course. ☝ Because of that, I drafted the course outline immediately after the phone call. Because of that, I launched the online course, and the lady who owned the spice business joined the first batch. Because of that, I delivered the first lesson of the improved version of the same online course for the third batch just yesterday. Ever since then, I have been helping food business operators start their food businesses from home or improve the quality, safety, and stability of their products. My takeaway from this experience is that "There may be several reasons not to, but we only need one reason to start a new project”. How about you? What encouraged you to do something you had procrastinated for a long time? #InnoSafeFoodProcessing #OnlineCourse
