Interesting initiative from Deep Mind in outlining the levels of Artificial General Intelligence. The 5 levels of #AGI: Level 0: No AI Level 1: Emerging -- equal to or somewhat better than an unskilled human (all of LLM's are within this category) Level 2: Competent -- at least 50th percentile of skilled adults Level 3: Expert -- at least 90th percentile of skilled adults Level 4: #Virtuoso -- at least 99th percentile of skilled adults Level 5: #Superhuman -- outperforms 100% of humans And, "superhuman" is defined as a robot performing a variety of tasks better than ALL humans. That includes things humans can't do at all: predicting future events, ability to talk to animals. I'm both excited and scared 🌓 There's an interesting correlation with Autonomous Driving Levels: Level 0: No automation at all Level 1: Very light automation (cruise control, etc.) Level 2: Some automation but requires human attention at all times Level 3: Can self-drive but require intervention in severe conditions Level 4: Highly autonomous Level 5: Completely autonomous Tesla is at level 2 ?!

During the workshop, I explored key concepts such as image recognition, object detection, and deep learning algorithms. It's known, I have a 'quiet' nature when it comes to social media, But I want to share some 'gadflies' (some persistent thoughts) that have been on my mind. As someone who's spent some years in the minefields of machine learning, computer vision, and autonomous systems, I've witnessed firsthand how AI is transforming the way robots perceive and interact with the world. (I still remember how fascinated I was by the SVM and Faster R-CNN) But to me, the real game-changer these days? AI's role in decision-making. In autonomous driving, for instance, the leap from perception to action isn't just about identifying obstacles—it's about making split-second decisions that could mean the difference between safety and disaster. The key lesson here? Robust decision-making systems in robotics and autonomous systems (I repeat, this is, in my opinion) hinge on: - the quality of data (both sent and received), - the adaptation of real-time processing, - and, critically, the ability to predict and adapt to unforeseen scenarios. Unforeseen scenarios are clearer than the other points to me since now, there are dozens of papers on it (with good results, actually), but the consequences are still unrevealed or only simulated for real life, especially in dynamic environments. But of course, I will be ambiguously looking forward to experimenting and observing more on decision-making adaptation. I will always want to hear from other Software Engineers, asking in every experiment I conduct or observe: — At what point do you trust your system—whether or not you were the one who developed it? — Would you be comfortable being present when the system is first tested in a real-dynamic environment? I’d love to hear your thoughts or connect with fellow engineers passionate about pushing the boundaries of what autonomous systems can achieve.
