🇺🇸 This week, Robert Langman, James Gregson and Andy H. are at the ESEA Network conference in Portland, Oregon connecting with school and district leaders to support disadvantaged students. It's an event that links closely to our mission and we have enjoyed having the speak to so many inspiring administrators about the work they're doing to help close the achievement gap. In the US, over 9 million children live below the federal poverty line. These children — and others from similar socioeconomic backgrounds — face academic challenges that their peers don’t. In math in particular, students from low-income families score 20-30 points lower on the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) than students from higher-income families. We feel passionate that these children have access to the opportunities they need to succeed in math and can't wait to grow our community of schools and districts in the US to help do our bit. If you're attending come and say hello at stand 1222. #ESEA #ESEA2024 #ESEAConference
We need more initiatives in the USA to build Mathematical Fluency. Kudos to the of TSL. :)
