✅ #Argentina & #USA ♻️ Great to see the #relationship between these two #Countries flourish on a proactive level. ♻️ Strengthening the understanding and commitment to the #criticalminerals supply and demand, further enhances #value to each party at a time of #global unrest and #instability. ♻️ Certainly, an aspect of this relationship that can not go unnoticed is the fact that both sides can rely a bit more on #domestic #supplychain of #materials and within each other instead of heavily relying on #countries such as #China, #Russia, and #Panama for the same availabilities!! #supply #demand #supplychain #metals #manufacturers #manufacturing #jobs #technologies #trade #logistics #mining #minerals #manufacture #business #market #markets #buy #sell #sales #purchase #agreement #businesses #ties Global Mineral Holdings Inc. #gmhinc

Where will the money come from to build the critical minerals supply chain? As per a recent article in The Globe and Mail, it certainly isn't coming from domestic sources. The article highlights the proposed investment of $130 million by China's Zijin Mining in Solaris Resources Inc., a Canadian mining company, developing the Warintza copper project in Ecuador. With the increasing demand for critical minerals, will the Canadian government let this deal go through? Read more about this proposed investment in the following article: https://lnkd.in/eKRucAtu

Value chains = kill chains... Here is an interesting quote from the article, "Whilst no single country has more than a 15% share of oil supply, China has a more than 80% share in gallium, magnesium, tungsten, to take just three critical minerals – and controls almost all the mines in the Democratic Republic of Congo which produces over 70% of cobalt." #mining #technology #criticalminerals

Natural Resource Governance | Policy Researcher | MA International Relations, University of Cape Town
"Given its comparatively well-developed infrastructure, established mining expertise, and abundant renewable energy and minerals resources, South Africa could position itself as a regional investment destination for the extraction and processing of critical minerals ... However, these strengths can only be leveraged if the core structural challenges are addressed and a more enabling policy environment created." My op-ed for The Brenthurst Foundation on the opportunities critical minerals present to the South African mining sector in the Daily Maverick today ⛏
