Had time to digest the FBI's 2023 active shooter annual report. While the number of incidents declined slightly from 2022 - 48 vs 50 - it remains 8 TIMES higher than in early 2000s. The first step to solving a problem is admitting you have one. America, we have a problem. And it will take systemic improvements to correct - to mental healthcare, societal norms, firearms legislation, security and law enforcement training. What we have documented here are 48 avoidable tragedies. #activeshooter #activethreat #publicsafety #gunviolence #security #lawenforcement #fbi https://lnkd.in/gmPQZutr

At CGIT, we believe that the collection and analysis of information is key to solving violent crimes. In gun-related crimes every piece of information gathered can become vital evidence in court, helping to validate the truth. Incidents of gunfire are often under-reported, and even when they are, sound travel can mislead responses. This is where FireFLY LE III steps in – alerting law enforcement when others can’t and guiding them to the location for a comprehensive collection of evidence. 🛡️Why It Matters: - Accurate gunshot detection ensures faster response. - Crime scenes become a hub for gathering crucial evidence and intelligence. - The more information collected, the stronger the case to connect crimes, guns, and suspects. With FireFLY LE III, law enforcement can piece together the puzzle of gun violence, helping to secure justice for victims and peace for communities. 7 Ways a Private Investigator can get BURNED 🔥 while conducting SURVEILLANCE 🎥 🕵️♂️ 👀 🔎 +++ 1) Park your vehicle too close to the subject’s residence (when police or neighbors approach your cover is blown). 2) Making discreet contact at the residence on multiple occasions 3) Nosey neighbors that patrol the neighborhood and check RING cameras. 4) Contacting law enforcement for a CODE 5, but when neighbors call the cops blow your cover. 5) Following the subject’s vehicle too closely. 6) Not having black out tint or window coverings on your vehicle. 7) Following the subject on foot #privateinvestigator #surveillance #surveillanceinvestigator #subrosa #privateinvestigations

Leaving People Defenseless Doesn't Create Safety. Police respond to deadly stabbing spree at popular beach destination Dorset Police believe that the 17-year-old boy stabbed two women in Bournemouth https://lnkd.in/e3M3GP9D Nations with disarmed populations tragically aren't free from daily violent crime nor mass casualty events. I don't gloat over horrible situations like the news story above this post. I grieve. I grieve because violent egotists or even terrorists will use knives, vehicles, corrosive substances and anything else when denied legal (or easy illegal) access to ballistic weaponry. Western countries live in a more combative time now. Our public spaces, events and holidays are often targeted by aggressive, even homicidal, people than in tamer times. This mass casualty event happened at a beach destination, which presupposes attendees likely not having anything on their persons for self defense, especially in bathing suits. Less lethal options here like #pepperspray, #peppergel, #bearspray or non firearms projectile devices like the #Byrna are often illegal to citizens in disarmament mandating countries. Leaving people defenseless doesn't create Safety, it co-signs tragedy. #SafeFunByCap #safefuncreator #safefunescort #securityadvisor #eventsecurity #protectionprofessional #protector #securitytopicwriter

#FirstDefender Tackled Mass Shooting Suspect At Kansas City Chiefs Parade. I posted this on X, January 24th, 2024: "In 2024, defenders & protectors will likely make headlines/go viral on timelines as citizen self defense and protection professionals find themselves victorious over violent vessels of an enabling ideology. Stage is set. Just a matter of when chaotic cast crosses our paths." After a mass shooting at the Kansas City Chiefs parade celebrating their Superbowl win, citizens became "first defenders" and tackled an armed suspect, holding him for the police. Society's greatest protective resource, first defenders, created safety once again at what should have been a joyous event, secured by 800 law enforcement professionals. As of this post, no motive has emerged for this tragedy but motivation of first defender Paul Contreras was clear: "The whole time he's fighting to get up and run away," Paul said. "We're fighting each other, you know. We're fighting to keep him down and he's fighting to get up." Contreras motivation was to save lives. Period. Full stop. He did so not out of professional obligation but from personal commitment to stop mayhem before more people were injured- as pure a motive as there is. This year will sadly offer more major scenarios where lives are threatened for criminal or terrorist reasons but fortunately, first defenders from the general public or private #protectionprofessionals will rise to the occasion. In saluting them we salute the best within ourselves!
