Join the fight! More than 50% of adults in the UK have been infected with #Cytomegalovirus. Whilst it often goes unnoticed in healthy individuals, it can cause serious health problems to unborn babies if passed on by an infected mother. It is estimated that in the UK, 2-3 babies are affected by CMV every day. Babies with congenital CMV can experience long term health complications including seizures, hearing and vision impairment, problems with the liver and spleen and intellectual disabilities. The virus can also cause miscarriage and stillbirth. There is currently no vaccine or recommended treatment for CMV in pregnancy. Recognising the urgency, we are seeking volunteers to participate in a clinical trial to support development of a vaccine aimed at eliminating this harmful virus – we need your help! Volunteers will receive compensation for their time and travel expenses. In my opinion, one of the most important and effective ways to tackle rising elderly population is to immunize them against #vaccines preventable diseases such as #pneumonia #influenza shingles. This not only reduces risk of acquiring fatal illness but also improves QoL and provides community immunity to a greater extent. Keeping in line with my previous blog - Grey Tsunami, an essay on Elderly shots - Why When and What shall offer insights on vaccine recommendation in older adults. click the link below https://lnkd.in/dp7PFTk6 Website: www.amarcare.in #vaccination #pneumonia #shingles #hepatitis #cervicalcancerawareness #preventionisbetterthancure #prevention #elderlycare #seniorcare #healthcare #preventativehealth #familymedicine #geriatrics

Mothers want nothing more than to protect their babies. Yet, the fact remains: babies hospitalized for COVID-19 often had mothers who didn’t receive the vaccine during pregnancy. Not vaccinating creates risks that can be avoided. When a pregnant woman is vaccinated against COVID-19, she passes antibodies to her baby. These antibodies are critical in the first months of life, offering the baby a shield against severe illness and hospitalization. But without the vaccine, here’s what happens: - Babies are left vulnerable to infection - Hospitalizations among newborns rise - The stress and anxiety for families intensify Research from the CDC shows babies born to vaccinated mothers are 61% less likely to be hospitalized for COVID-19. These numbers aren’t just statistics—they're lives saved, hospitalizations prevented, and peace of mind for new parents. There is a simple solution. If you’re pregnant, speak with your healthcare provider about getting vaccinated. It’s a proven way to protect both you and your baby from preventable harm. Let’s make informed choices and safeguard the most vulnerable among us. Speak to your doctor. Protect your baby. 5 babies have died in 3 months. 5 families devastated by the death of their baby. Pertussis is nasty. Uptake rates of pertussis vaccine are much lower than they should be. Pertussis infant and maternal immunisation programmes are there to protect new born babies and their families. It is "just a scratch"; the vaccinators are very skilled at injecting; nurses and GPs are very skilled in answering your questions. #pertussis #whoopingcough #100daycough #infantimmunisation #maternalimmunisation #vaccines #jcvi #publichealth

No matter how healthy or strong our immune systems may be, they can still be vulnerable to serious illnesses. And relying on natural immunity is not worth the potential consequences. Vaccines mimic the infection and stimulate the body's immune response without causing illness. This protects against diseases without the risk of serious complications or spreading the disease to others. Furthermore, relying on natural immunity can be dangerous and even deadly. Some diseases, such as measles and chickenpox, can have serious and potentially fatal complications. Therefore, it is much safer and more effective to get vaccinated. Protect yourself, your loved ones, and your community by getting vaccinated according to recommended schedules. Schedule your child's vaccination appointment today! 855-349-6019 #LaSalleMedicalAssociates #PediatricCare #ChildHealth #HealthyKids #ParentingTips #QualityCare #Pediatricians #MedicalServices #ChildCare #GrowingUpHealthy #ChildWellness #SanBernardino
