In the world of cybersecurity, Business Email Compromise (BEC) attacks continue to be one of the most financially damaging threats. These highly targeted phishing scams trick organizations into transferring large sums of money or sensitive data to attackers, often posing as trusted contacts or high-ranking executives. 👨💻 How BEC Works: 1. Attackers gain access to legitimate business email accounts. 2. They impersonate executives, vendors, or partners, requesting urgent payments or sensitive data. 3. The target complies, believing the request to be genuine, resulting in financial loss or data breaches. 🌐 Key Stats: • BEC attacks caused $2.7 billion in losses globally in 2022. • Financial institutions, real estate, and healthcare industries are frequent targets. • Human error remains the biggest vulnerability.
It’s clear that BEC is quickly becoming a top tactic for threat actors, with the goal of tricking users and stealing funds. Learn how to defend against BEC in our latest blog: https://ow.ly/yBIO50Tx9J7 #EndCyberRisk #CybersecurityAwarenessMonth

Very proud of our partnership with netnumber to fight #textmessaging #phishing and other mobile fraud. Message me if you want to get involved. "In collaboration with our partner WMC Global, the Fraud Prevention Registry contains phone numbers supplied by financial institutions and their customers based on reports of financial scams and fraud. With this tool, carriers can more easily identify illegitimate senders on their networks and even fight SIM Farm activity. CPaaS providers also have an additional tool to validate the legitimacy of text message senders on their platforms." #cybersecurity #10DLC https://lnkd.in/eJqH9N9z
