Three Crowns LLP, Columbia Law School, and The Dickson Poon School of Law at King's College London recently hosted The David D. Caron Praelium 2024: A Celebration of Advocacy, at The Law Society, in London, as part of London International Disputes Week (LIDW).   At this year's event, advocates Kate Davies KC and Tariq Baloch appeared before a tribunal comprising Hilary Heilbron KC acting as Tribunal President, Sam Wordsworth KC, and Audley Sheppard KC. Three Crowns partner Manish Aggarwal provided the opening remarks and introduced our esteemed speakers, as well as the case study. The advocates addressed the issue of whether the tribunal should grant an order filed by Vito Organics, the claimant in the arbitration, to restrain the respondent Fredo Foods (a partially state-owned company in the Republic of Brasi), from taking any step to progress a new arbitration filed against Vito in relation to this dispute; and secondly, whether the tribunal has jurisdiction to grant an order restraining a shareholder of Fredo from pursuing a suit filed in the High Court of Brasi.   To view a video recording and photographs from the event, and access the full case study, click here: https://lnkd.in/eEsmZuE3.
