MY 2024 KENTUCKY DERBY GUIDE IS NOW AVAILABLE! I believe this year’s Kentucky Derby guide is the best I’ve ever produced. In these pages, you’ll find: THE FINAL FURLONG – Discover which horses are 0-for-43 based on the final fraction of their last race since 1992 and which have produced a positive ROI. UNDERSTANDING QUIRIN SPEED POINTS – I give you the IVs and ROIs for each of the nine Quirin speed point totals. TURN-ONS AND TURNOFFS – Find out which horses return a profit and which horses practically never win America’s greatest horse race. I LIKE BIG WINS, AND I CANNOT LIE – I examine how impactful a previous "big win" is in the Kentucky Derby. HAPPY BIRTHDAY? – Does a horse's birth month matter? Find out which foaling months produce an inordinate number of Derby winners and which don’t. UNDERSTANDING SPEED FIGURE CYCLES – Discover the speed rating pattern that has produced zero Kentucky Derby winners (from 38 starters) since 1992 and the pattern that has produced a 43.5 percent ROI. KNOW YOUR S.H.I.T. – The top four Simon Historical Investment Technique selections have produced 21 of the last 31 Kentucky Derby winners. A $100 bet on each pick would have returned a profit of $16,990. AI ANALYSIS OF THE KENTUCKY DERBY – I use artificial intelligence to select the top five Kentucky Derby contenders. The results may surprise you! THE CONTENDERS: A CLOSER LOOK – A horse-by-horse look at the Kentucky Derby field. PACE PROFILE REPORT – Each Kentucky Derby Guide contains my Pace Profile Report, which includes par speed figures and my speed rations for every (potential) Derby contender.

Watch as a stubborn horse learns a valuable lesson about the importance of water in "The Stubborn Horse and the Stream" story. Sometimes you can lead a horse to water, but you cannot force it to drink. Watch this captivating tale of a stubborn horse and a stream - a story that teaches us that you cannot force the horse to drink! A powerful lesson in persistence and choice. It's like trying to convince a stubborn horse to drink from a stream. You can guide them there, show them the water, even nudge them towards it, but ultimately, it's up to the horse to decide if it wants to quench its thirst. You can't force it to drink, no matter how much you know it's what's best for them. It's frustrating, watching someone struggle when you know you have the solution right in front of them. But sometimes, people need to come to their own realizations, make their own choices. You can offer support, encouragement, and guidance, but you can't make them take that final step. It's a lesson in patience, in letting go of control, and in understanding that everyone has their own journey to take. You can lead them to the water, but you can't make them drink.

Scottie Scheffler's wife, Meredith, did not join him in Augusta this weekend because she is pregnant with their first child. On Saturday, it was reported that if she went into labor prior to him teeing off on Sunday, he would withdraw from the Masters and forfeit his chance at a second green jacket. At that point, he was leading the field at (-7). If you are not a golf fan, I'll spoil the surprise for you: Scottie finished the tournament at (-11) on Sunday, becoming a Masters champion for the second time in 3 years. I read many, many comments that called out how foolish this would have been. But the one that stood out to me most was this: "He'll be a dad for decades, but his kid will have to live with the guilt of causing his dad to lose the Masters for his whole life." When your identity is rooted in what you do and your accomplishments, I can see how that comment rings true. Scottie's identity is found in something much greater than a green jacket. Much greater than his accomplishments. It is rooted in Christ Jesus and His finished work upon the cross, defeating Satan, Sin, and Death. Amazing perspective by Scottie on this Monday morning. Watch here. The question that produces this answer is asked around the 6:10 mark of the video. The entire press conference is well worth your time. #themasters #pga #golf #identity #perspective #outlook #ScottieScheffler

This weekend was the Kentucky Derby, and on the historic 150th running of this race, Mystik Dan delivered a breath-taking win, beating second place Sierra Leone and third place Forever Young in the first three horse photo finish since 1947 ended in a 3-horse photo finish. This year's race marks a unique milestone with the 150th running of the Derby — the first race took place back in 1875. There are lots of interesting facts about the Derby, with the drink of the race is the Mint Julep, made with Woodford Reserve as the official bourbon for the race. There wasn’t an official trophy for the race for almost 50 years, the first race was in 1875 and the trophy was created in 1924. To this day the Kentucky Derby trophy is one of the only solid gold trophies in the United States. The fastest Kentucky Derby was run by Secretariat in 1973 (1:59.40). The slowest winning time was run by Kingman in 1891 (2:52.25 for the mile and a half). There have been three fillies to win the race. I love the Kentucky Derby not only because it’s exciting, but also because it always provides important leadership lessons. Here are a few from the 2024 race: You can win against all odds. You just never know. You can’t stop until the end. This was an exciting race to watch, and even more interesting doing research on the history of the Derby as well as the winner. If you have something interesting to add to the lore of the Kentucky Derby, drop it in the chat. Don’t forget to like, comment, and follow so you don’t miss future content.
