Ever wondered how AI can revolutionize healthcare? Or how innovation can help bridge the gaps in access and equity?
Throughout my journey, from growing up in India to my career at AstraZeneca, I've seen firsthand the transformative power of innovation and its applications in oncology and healthcare. But here's the challenge: health disparities persist, and they demand our immediate attention. The journey toward health equity is ongoing and there’s much to be done.
In my recent Forbes article, I delve into the strategies and innovations reshaping healthcare for a healthier future:
➡️ Going Beyond Traditional Systems: With initiatives like AstraZeneca’s CHANGE program, we have more opportunity to break barriers and reach underserved communities by working with patient navigators and outreach groups.
➡️ Localized, Community-Centric Approaches: The importance of a tailored outreach and local collaborations can make a meaningful difference with examples like the movement “When We Tri(al)”, a movement to, among other things, educate Black women about breast cancer and increase Black women’s participation in clinical trials.
➡️ Embracing AI-Powered Solutions: AI analytics can pinpoint at-risk populations to tailor preventive care strategies to the specific needs of each community and improve our overall healthcare delivery and outcomes.
I believe that together, we can build a future where healthcare is accessible to all, regardless of background or ZIP code.

However, disparities still exist.
At Uncharted Access, we envision a future where everyone has equal access to quality healthcare and participation in potentially life-changing clinical trials.
Here's how we're working towards that vision:
* **Connecting underserved communities** with relevant clinical trials.
* **Educating and empowering** individuals about their healthcare options.
* **Advocating for policies** that promote health equity and inclusion in research.

National Health Center Week (NHCW) is an annual celebration that highlights the significant role of health centers in providing comprehensive and culturally sensitive healthcare services to millions of Americans. For 2024, NHCW will take place from August 4 to August 10.
Health centers, also known as Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs), serve as vital healthcare providers for underserved communities, offering primary care, dental services, mental health support, and preventive services regardless of patients' ability to pay.
The theme for NHCW 2024 is "Community Health Centers: The Key to Healthier Communities." This theme emphasizes the integral role of health centers in fostering healthy communities through their patient-centered care models, community outreach programs, and emphasis on preventive care.
