United Way of Central Iowa in collaboration with Community Foundation of Greater Des Moines, and Bravo Greater Des Moines have released the results of a joint Central Iowa Nonprofit Sector Survey. The findings reveal a nonprofit sector that is facing increased demand but lacks sustainable resources to meet them. Now more than ever, nonprofits are stepping up to serve the community but to continue this critical work, they need our support. Northern Chautauqua Community Foundation is currently accepting Letters of Interest for the Community Grants Program! This biannual program provides funding for nonprofits serving northern Chautauqua. Letters of Interest for the Spring Community Grants should be submitted by March 1 to Program Coordinator Eileen Ardillo at Eardillo@nccfoundation.org. Grant proposals must efficiently and effectively address identified community needs or new opportunities. Letters of interest should not exceed two pages in length and should include the following: ·        A brief project description, including how this project furthers the organization's mission. ·        The anticipated and measurable impacts of the project, including the number of people who might benefit, specific community benefits, or both. ·        The total project cost and specific amount requested. ·        The signature of the Executive Director or President of the organization and the name and contact information of the primary person responsible for the proposal. Veteran Housing Corp demands transparency and every local, state, and federal government agency and other stakeholders MUST provide answers to questions about the housing projects that are built with government funding, subsidies, tax credits, or incentives, including the following: 1. How much funding, federal tax credits, or government benefits or incentives from all government sources did the projects receive? 2. What is the affordability period for each project? 3. What guarantees exist that tenants will not be displaced after the "affordability period expires?
